“I joined the Army in 1989 in order to be able to attend school. My career path took me to places I never dreamed I would be able to go and do things I never thought I’d be able to do. I was reading the U.S. News & World Report magazine one afternoon and there was an article highlighting the 10 best online degree programs and Pace was listed as one of the top programs. The programs Pace offered were in line with my career goals so I decided to enroll. The biggest impact my degree has had on my career is that I now have the theory behind the practical application of what I have been doing for more than 20 years. I actually found school more interesting and I was more engaged knowing the everyday use and then discussing the theory behind what I was doing.”

— Robert Mariano ’17 BS in Professional Technology Studies (Telecommunications)Westchester Campus U.S. Army

“Pace University sets itself apart because of its strong commitment to veterans through programs and support. As my battalion’s career counselor, I had to act as the liaison between my soldiers and many schools and none have been as professional as Pace. The professors always give real-life examples and I am able to relate those to my professional life. Additionally, my degree program’s flexibility has allowed me to balance a full-time professional life while attending classes in the evening.”

— Dana Marie Rasmussen ’17 MS in Human Resources Management New York City Campus Army National Guard

“During my time as a student, I was pursuing a career in the Army ROTC program. I had to travel an hour for PT at 6:00 a.m., and make it back to Pace for my regular classes by 8:00 a.m. I also had military classes in the city on certain days, so Pace gave me the opportunity to have priority scheduling, allowing me to balance my demanding nursing schedule and ROTC. Pace prepares you for the state boards and emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practice.”

— Danielle Bard ’17 BS in Nursing Westchester Campus Army ROTC
