      Tis is one o my avorite fliers that I have created.Bein one o the main marketers or Skizzy’s, I’ve had thepleasure and opportunity to make their fliers. Ofen timesit has been hard to create a flier and change it up becausemost o the time it is always music and I don’t have all the

    materials to make a good flier. However, this time was di-erent and I had the opportunity to really spread my wingsand take off.

      With this flier, I had 3 images and also looked at oth-er fliers made or magic shows to create this one. I did abunch o masking and centering and creating a ormat inorder to make it not only unique, but look as proession-

    al as possible. I eel that it not only represents magic, andpower, but truly draws the eye to the flier and is very welldsone and appealing.

      Troughout the process o creating this project, I had the oppor-tunity to learn many new skills apart rom masking to help make thisproject even better. One o the new skills that I had the opportunity toapply was understanding a color scheme. Tough this skill was to belearned and applied last week, I didn't truly understand it this weekwhen the pictures I wanted to use had different colors and I needed tocombine them. As you can see, each image (Older Rocky and youngchampion rocky) contain red, white, and blue amongst other colors. Iwas able to use all the colors in my project. Also, I learned a ew newtechniques in decorating the ont and text. I used the Georgia BoldItalic or this project which gives a unique look, but also a seriouslook which grabs the attention. Te boldness adds to help grab theattention. I learned how to change and add pixels to the text and fillthose text pixels with a background to truly allow the text to pop.

      Rocky is a well-known movie and story about an underdog box-er who works his way up to be the champion and goes through trials,difficulties and ailures. However, no matter what obstacle is places

    beore him, he overcomes them. Hence the quote: "ever championwas once a contender that reused to give up." Even i one does notknow the story o Rocky, the image displays an older Sylvester Stal-lone reflecting on his younger sel and his accomplishments. His ace(in the movie in this specific moment he is talking to his son) displayscare and worry, as i talking to the viewer him/hersel and encourag-ing them that every champion starts rom the bottom, but what sepa-rates them rom other contenders is reusing to give up!

      Masking was very easily learned and I love using it! It has been

    un to adapt this technique into other side projects which I have beendoing! I even used the masking technique to help bring down thepixelation and help the image look much more clear. Masking can beused or more than just adding images and adapting them into thepicture.

      Description: Inner Light Records has been the name of a record com-

    pany I have had for a long time. I had many ideas for a logo that were very

    eccentric, but I decided to do something simple and powerful and very

    easily recognizable.

      Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): Using illustrator, I was able to

    figure out a simple logo and send a powerful message out. Us-

    ing the Superclarendon font, I was able to connect the I and L together and

    create a space between the two letters and fill it with yellow. The dark color

    for the acronym letters and yellow inside represents "inner light".

    Message: The message is very simple. The record company wants music that

    will uplift and that others can relate to. Nothing dark, evil or drags people

    down. Only things that will bring people up!

      Audience: The audience, like in the message are those who are in

    need of help and support! Inner Light Records wants to provide that.

      Description: Tese projects were a little moredifficult or me. However creating my logo wasairly simple and comes off very powerully. In-serting it into my business card was simple as wellas the ont. Creating the contrast was a little di-ficult because I elt like more decoration wasn’t

    necessary but creating hal the card black made iteel a lot more creative. Te letterhead was simpleas well just keeping the logo at low opacity andusing the ont o the company.  Process (Programs, ools, Skills): Using Illus-trator and Indesign creating these projects werea lot more difficult. I mainly used the opacitytools and transerred over some parts o my proj-

    ect over rom Illustrator. Tere wasn’t very manytools used. I groups a lot o sections to be able toalign text.Message: My message is simple, to represent theinner light inside o everyone. Tat even in thedarkest times, there is light and good inside oeveryone, at times we may need to find it but it isthere.

    Audience: My audience are those who love mu-sic ranging rom alternative to hardcore to metal.However the music is suppose to be uplifing andempathetic towards its listeners.

      Description: My brochure is or an event I hopeto create one day called Fight the Demon Fest whichis or those who are suffering rom mental, emo-tion or physical illnesses and to help them cope withtheir weaknesses through music and companionship

      Process (Programs, ools, Skills): I used AdobeInDesign using the shape tool, type tool, ruler in or-der to make the ormat or this brochure.Message: Te message is within the ront page andthe picture o the band on the inside. Everyone hasdemons and problems and we must stand up togeth-er and as individuals and ace them in order to growand become the best we can be.

      Audience: As mentioned earlier, it is or all thosestruggling in lie, mentally, emotionally physicallyand being able to overcome demons!

      Te process o making my ad was a unique one. Originally, Iwanted to make a stunning well crafer ad. However as I was work-ing on it, I realized that it could be simple and that I should do a ewunique things to catch my audiences eye. My audience or this ad wasgraduating seniors preparing to enter the work orce. As many se-

    niors take this next step in their lie, one o their goals is to build theirreputation in their career and gain leadership which is why I put em-phasis in the word “Leadership” so that they would know this is a waythey can get ahead o others in their field. Also, to give them more oa desire to read the inormation given, I created a box that is not ullyconnected and gives it a unique design and causes the eyes to look andread.

      Using Adobe Indesign was un and gave me the tools I neededto accomplish the ad and was simple. Using simple shapes, texts, onts

    and designs the ad created was un and simple. Using slab seri andsans seri ont styles gave the ad a great image and legibility and em-phasis where it was needed. Te logo displays the actually name o thecompany and not just an acronym so, i desired, the attendees can lookthe company up and continue to ollow them. Te images used weregiven by a proessor (but available upon request).

      Te process in creating this ad was a little more tricky butsuccessul. I knew rom the beginning that I liked this picture andoriginally wanted the whole page to be filled with the image. How-ever it was to stretched and I knew I needed to change it. So, one othe first things I changed afer my first draf was the text. 

    Afer creating the text and using the word reflection in themain body text, I knew I wanted a reflection in the image. Tisprocess was tricky because it needed to be subtle but at the sametime be the “wow” actor in the ad. Te color pattern I used ol-lowed the males flannel mixed with a navy blue sky to create arelaxing and inviting image. My message and audience was veryclear.

    BYU-I is filled with many engaged students as well as marriedstudents who want a successul marriage. I wanted a legible ont or

    the text but a title that had more detail to it but still very subtle. Temain thing that was learned in the process o making this ad wascreating a “wow” actor. ruly making it easy to look at, unique and just enough text to have someone read i there were busy or hadother things to do. Overall it was a great experience.

      Message: Te point o this website and recordlabel, is to promote strength and encouragement.With so many things promoting anger, sadness, ag-gression, I want there to be a light or silver liningor those looking or it.

      Audience: Anyone who is struggling spiritually,

    emotionally, physically, mentally etc. I want themto know they are not alone and there are others go-ing through their same trials. Tat is the ocus othe label.

      Te process in creating this photodesign was probably my a- vorite thus ar. When conronting it, I had many ideas that I wantedto do with limited time. However, the picture o the cat with one eyethat I took gave many options o motivational designs and I decided

    to pursue that route. My audience are those struggling with any tri-als. Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. Te cats ace is veryserious and looks determined. Te one eye represents the trials anddifficulties. I used the paint brush tool to make the eye (which wasoriginally all black) the same color as the color scheme (RGB) whichwas seal brown but almost a crimson color. Tis shade o red (whichwas made lowering the opacity) is representing strength, courage anddetermination. I thought o the saying “scaredy cat” and how i a catcan be determined and brave, so can anyone else!

      I cut the cat out o its original picture in order to shape it prop-erly to the design that has a black background giving it darker eel,however with the cat being white, not only does it give the blackbackground its opposing contrast, it also creating a silver lining inthe picture. I had very ew options o onts due to recently down-loading the sofware, however I could use basic knowledge to makeit powerul and unique. I used a san seri ont and some bold on theword “better” as well as increasing the size and ont to make it standout and give a positive eel. Overall I am very proud o this projectbecause I truly wanted it to be simple and powerul. Keeping it simple

    and making a unique and powerul message is always the best way togo.
