You will be using a mixture of these verb tenses in your persuasive writing tasks therefore is
important we learn the skill before completing the main writing task. Read the text
carefully taking in the personal and persuasive style. Then scan the text for examples of
each type of verb. Try and find at least 3 of each type.
Use the table below to record examples of each type of verb you found in the ‘North Coast’
text. Include auxiliary verbs if the are used e.g. have seen, am travelling or will remain.
Insert the one you found and then convert to the other two types.

Write a few paragraphs to describe somewhere in Northern Ireland you love to go.
After lock down you will appreciate it even more. Just close your eyes and imagine
your are there. Try to use examples of past, present and future tense. Highlight the
verb tenses you use as follows.
