P49.7M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS DESTROYED BY PDEA 9

On August 14, 2019 at around 1300H, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency

Regional Office IX headed by Dir. III ATTY. JACQUELYN L. DE GUZMAN,

destroyed P49.7M worth of dangerous drugs at Permex Producer and Exporter

Corporation located at Barangay Ayala, Zamboanga City.

Destroyed drugs were composed of 7.3196990 kilos of shabu worth P49, 773,

953.2, and 71.7703 grams of Marijuana with an estimated market value of P8,

612.4360. After taking representative samples for retention, they were disposed off

by means of thermal destruction method as prescribed under Section 6 of DDB

Regulation No. 1, Series of 2002. This method employs heat of up to 800 degree

Celsius, making the dangerous drugs totally destroyed.

All drugs that were destroyed are covered by court orders for destruction

issued by RTC Branches 12, 13, 14, 16, 32 and 33 of Zamboanga City; RTC

Branches 18, 19, 20 and 21 of Pagadian City; RTC Branch 29 of San Miguel,

Zamboanga del Sur; RTC Branch 30 of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur; RTC Branch 23

of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur; RTC Branch 27 of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte;

RTC Branch 28 of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte; and RTC Branches 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10

of Dipolog City. Other drugs came from PDEA RO9 operations but with no cases

filed in the court.

The destruction was witnessed by heads and/or representatives from DOJ,

PAO, PNP Crime Laboratory, Civil Society Organizations, EMB, Academe, Local

Officials, court representatives from Dipolog City, Pagadian City, Zamboanga City,

San Miguel, ZDS, Molave, ZDS, Aurora, ZDS, Siocon, ZDN, Liloy, ZDN, PIA and

different media personalities.

Hon. Gregorio V. Dela Peña, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 12 in Zamboanga

City served as the Guest Speaker during the event.

“This is to conform to the provision of the RA 9165 and to allay fears of the

public that confiscated drugs are being recycled into the streets”, Atty. De Guzman

said.

Anti-drug lectures and Dengue awareness during the launching of IWAS DE-DO (Iwas Dengue, Iwas Droga) held at Talon-Talon National High School, Zamboanga City, on August 18, 2019, together with other activities like Bloodletting and Feeding Program.

IWAS DE-DO is a flagship program of the ZC Latino Eastern Eagles Club with Eagle Ray Jay O. Montojo, Ph.D. as the Charter President.

August 8, 2019 – lecture on the Ill-Effects of Dangerous Drugs during the National

Drug Education Program attended by 405 Grade V pupils of Isabela City Elementary

Pilot School, together with their advisers and School Principal.

August 20, 2019 - Lecture on Classification of Drugs and its ill-effects and distribution of

comics during the National Drug Education Program at Parang Basak National High School,

Parang Basak, Lamitan City, Basilan, attended by the Faculty and Staff of Parang Basak

National High School and Brgy. Officials of Parang Basak, Lamitan City, Basilan.

August 8, 2019 – lectures on the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drug Strategy and on Barangay Drug

Clearing Program during the first day of the Two-Day Training Workshop on the Integrated

Drug Monitoring and Reporting Information System (IDMRIS) Anti-Drug Abuse Council-

Functionality Monitoring System (ADAC-FMS). The workshop was attended by the Provincial

Administrator of Basilan, the Ministry of Interior and Local Government Provincial Director,

the MILG Assistant Provincial Director, the representative of the Police Provincial Director,

Local Chief Executives of the province and their staff with a total of 70 attendees.

August 13, 2019 – Lecture on Identification of Illegal Drugs and its Ill-Effects and on RA 9165 during the Drug Detection and Identification Seminar/Workshop held at PMO-Zamboanga del Norte Conference Hall, Brgy. San Vicente, Port Area, Dapitan City, attended by all Port Police and PPA employees.

August 14, 2019 – Lecture on the Dangerous Drugs and its Ill-Effects, after the conduct of Search and Seizure (Greyhound Operation), to the 13 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL’s) of BJMP Dipolog City Jail – Female Dormitory, Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte.

August 9, 2019 – Lecture on the Ill-Effects of Drugs, Classification of Drugs, Common Signs of Drug Abuse, and RA 9165 at Brgy. San Jose, Pagadian City. Video Presentation and distribution of comics were also conducted among the participants of the symposium.

August 3, 2019 – Lecture on the Adverse Effects of Dangerous Drugs and Salient Provisions of RA 9165 during the Culmination of the “Linggo ng Kabataan” at the Multi-purpose Hall, Barangay Timalang, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay enjoined by no less than one hundred twenty (120) youths of Barangay Timalang, Ipil, ZSP. Film Showing and Distribution of PDEA comics were also done during the activity.

August 7, 2019 – Lecture on the Adverse Effects of Dangerous Drugs and Salient Features of RA 9165 at Pioneer National High School, Lower Tungawan, Tungawan, ZSP, attended by no less than one thousand two hundred (1,200) students. Film showing and distribution of comics were also done during the event.

August 21, 2019 – Lecture on the Adverse Effects of Dangerous Drugs and Salient Features of RA 9165 attended by no less than fifty (50) participants of Barangay Balansag, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay Province. Film showing and distribution of comics were also done during the activity.

August 21, 2019 – Orientation on Barangay Drug Clearing Program attended by

Barangay Chairpersons and Barangay Secretaries of the Municipality of Ungkaya

Pukan, Basilan Province. This was also attended by Municipal Mayor Hon.

Lufturhaman Maturan, Chief of Police, PCPT Said Omar Ismael and MLGOO, Mr.

Sajud Samaani.
