HORN GIPFEL HIGH-ALTITUDE TRAIL This is a charming but challenging hiking trail from the Kitzbüheler Horn, a mountain with the most beautiful views. It provides plenty of excitement and variety and hiking connoisseurs regard it as an utter delight.

THE FLECKALM TRAIL – TYROL’S LONGEST SINGLE TRAILThe section from the Ehrenbachhöhe promises not only unlimit-ed trail-riding fun but, being 7.5 km in length and dropping 1,000 metres, counts as the Tyrol’s longest single trail. Following old footpaths and forest tracks, the trail offers exciting downhills and some fabulous views. At various points bypass sections provide the necessary “relaxation” so that less experienced downhillers can master the art of biking down the mountain. Anyone with the stamina and strength and is prepared to be out for a whole day can, with the KITZ TRAIL CARD, master the trails on the Gaisberg and on the Fleckalm.

A SUMMER FULL OF HIKES, PANORAMIC VIEWS & MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES

KARST HIKING TRAIL HIKING TIME: 1.5 – 2.5 hrs.

From the Trattalmmulde (10 mins from the Alpenhaus down into the valley) a lovingly prepared 2.4 km path reveals the unique karst geology found on the Kitzbüheler Horn.

You reach the “Egglhöhe” via some impressive viewpoints. The “Weanerstadt” provides an impressive insight into the history of the earth’s geology with its “ponors” (cave-like structures) – taking you back to an era that preceded the dinosaurs. This circular hiking trail is suitable for all and takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours to complete, its reward being a very special encounter with nature.

HORN-BICHLALM HIKING TIME: approx. 4 hrs.

Ascent on the Hornbahn I + II. Route: Trattalmmulde – Lämmerbichlalm – Chapel – Kornbühl – Hochetz – Kneipp pool– Bichlalm top station – nice and easy back down to the Bichlalm valley station on the chairlift. The new and delightful hike, giving you the chance to enjoy the view of Kitzbühel and let your mind wander to your heart’s content. And as you hike you’ll also gradually become familiar with picturesque hiking trails. TIP: Enjoy a moment or two of pure relaxation at the newly opened Kneipp pool (near the Bichlalm chairlift mountain station)

PANORAMA & PASTURE TRAIL GOAS- BERG JOCH HIKING TIME: 2 – 3 hrs.

Note: because of a landslide, access to this hiking trail is only possible via the diversionary route. After a nice and easy ascent on the Gaisberg chairlift, you pass the “Jagasteig” variation (only for the experienced) and come to the starting point of the wonderful Alpine Pasture Circuit “Goasberg Joch” with its panoramic views.

RESTERKOGEL – PANORAMAALM AND BACK HIKING TIME: 2 hrs.

Magnificent high-altitude hiking and cycling trails against the backdrop of the “Hohe Tauern”, from the mountain station of the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen cable car – where you must not miss out on the window giving a panoramic view of the National Park – past the beautiful “Resterhöhesee” lake to the Panoramaalm. These hiking trails are ideal for families.

NO. 21 I STARTHAUS (START HOUSE) “STREIF” – CIRCUIT HIKING TIME: 20 mins

Explore the world’s most famous and most dangerous ski run: from the Starthaus (start house), you have impressive views of the world’s most daring downhill run. Tour with disabled access from Hochkitzbühel via the start house through the Märchenwald and back.

NO. 22 I PANORAMA CIRCULAR TRAIL HIKING TIME: 1.5 – 2 hrs.

Admire the spectacular panorama from the famous Hahnen-kamm as you take the beautifully designed circular tour. Four viewing installations provide unimpeded enjoyment of the awesome panoramic view. You can start either from the Hahnenkammbahn or Fleckalmbahn mountain stations. In either case you’ll enjoy plenty of fantastic panoramic views along the contour line. The refreshing waters of the Ehren- bachhöhesee lake (with Kneipp pool) are just as impressive and enjoyable as the views.

NO. 23 I GRAND MOUNTAIN HUTS TOUR ON THE HAHNENKAMM HIKING TIME: approx. 2.5 hrs.

This route follows romantic alpine trails and passes delightful traditional mountain huts. For the opening hours of the mountain huts, please see the general information notice displayed at the cable car stations.

NO. 24 I FOUR LAKES HIKING TRAIL TO THE PENGELSTEIN HIKING TIME: approx. 4 hrs.

A delightful high-altitude hike in pursuit of the element of water – past crystal clear mountain lakes such as the Ehren-bachhöhesee, Brunnsee, Pengelsteinsee and the Usterkarsee, gentle mountain pastures – with breathtaking panoramas.

Very demanding hike over the infamous Mausefalle and Steilhang – by the Seidlalmseen lakes there are benches where you can have a rest; you then continue past the Hausbergkante to the Hahnenkammbahn valley station.

STREIF VIEWING – EXPERIENCE A MYTHInfotainment LCD portals at the Starthaus, the Mause-falle, entrance of the Steilhang and the Hausbergkante plus incredible TV clips and films from the archives of the Kitzbüheler Skiclub, reveal the “terrifying” nature of the Streif challenge.
