Plug Into God’s Power Ephesians 1:17-23 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Plug Into God’s Power
• Through Prayer Ordinary Christians
experience extraordinary lives
as God has planned for us
and has promised us.
• Are you ready to reach
for the extraordinary?
Plug Into God’s Power
• “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:10-12
• I searched intently, with all my heart to find my future,
• plans that God had in store for my life, • someone as ordinary as me.• God Answered my prayer.
Plug Into God’s Power• Trusting God & believing in the Power
of Prayer, revolutionized my life.
• Prayer reveals God’s Powerful will for your life and your future.
• Opens the channel for His abundant blessings to flow into our lives.
• He desires to give us so much
more than what we can
imagine or ask for.
Plug Into God’s Power• Many don’t believe God’s desire is to
give us what we want and bless us beyond our wildest dreams.
• Many believe God only answers prayer that is sincere, noble and sensible.
• No prayer that requires the remarkable, extraordinary, super natural
or for sure, not the
miraculous.
Plug Into God’s Power• I believe God still moves in the super
natural realm.
• I have witnessed, along with many brethren in this assembly, answers to prayer that from any reasonable point of view would be called miracles.
• The bible is full of scripture
that supports this premise.
God Works When We Pray
• Ask God for things you can’t do,
• things that take the POWER of God to do & I continue to believe that “With God, nothing is impossible.” Luke 1:37
• Matthew 21:22 says, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
• Expect results when you pray.
How Does Prayer Work?• I don’t know HOW God will answer our
prayers.
• I don’t believe you have to understand it, just believe it.
• You may not understand exactly how electricity works.
• But, that doesn’t mean you should
set in the dark until you do.
• Believe it & you will receive it.
Live Beyond Your Limits
• God wants us to call on Him when we are faced with situations that are clearly beyond our limits.
• When was the last time God worked through you in such a way that you knew beyond a doubt that
GOD had done it?
Believe, Ask and Receive• God can & will transform your life, the life
of your family & the life of the church if we only ASK.
• If you are like most Christians, you desire God’s richest blessings and favor but are NOT always willing to ASK.
• God has unclaimed blessings for each of us because we have failed to ASK.
Prayer Is Powerful
• God’s hand moves when people pray!
• Whenever God desires to do a great work, He first sets people to pray.
• Through prayer, God greatly multiplies our efforts.
• We need to understand how to plug into that power.
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Be Righteous:
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." 1 Peter 3:12
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Keep God’s Commandments:
“we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.” 1 John 3:21-22
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Pray in faith:
“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord” James 1:6-7
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Pray in Jesus’ name:
“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may
bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:13-14
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Pray in harmony with God’s will:
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:14
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• In Proper Spiritual Condition:
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” John 15:6-8
Conditions of Acceptable Prayer
• Pray with the Right Motives:
“When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” James 4:3
Lord, Teach Us to PrayPsalm 23 - A psalm of David
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me
beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of
righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Lord, Teach Us to PrayMatthew 6:9-13 9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our
Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have
forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from the evil one.'
Lord, Teach Us to Pray
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers.
His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain."
10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."
And God granted his request.
