getting to the
point

this

clinical
skills

knowledge
with
our students.
The
educaiion

receive

the
classroom
pales in comparison
to the
knowledge
that
is
imparted
in the
field

Until

have
been
expected
to
participate
in,
but
not
lead,
the
history
taking,
physical

pre-hospital
care
of
your
patients.
The student
before
you

the
program

he/she

have
comfortable
command
of
a
majority
of
the
core
paramediciuniculum.
The
student
is expectedto
be
able
to function
as a

for
the
final
stages
of
the
field
experience.
During
your
tour,
please
place the
student
in a "Team
Leader,,
role.
please
understand
that
this student
shouid
not
be
expected
to
lead
as
you
or
your
partner would
lead,
but
as an
,,entry-level"
paramedic
wouldlead.
He/she
may
still
feel
a
bit
uncomfortable,
but
should
still
be able
to
complete
each
call
with
competency,
professionalism,
and
skill'

should
run:
1.
Student
presents
this
sheet
to
you
at the beginning
of
the
tour.
2. Student
takes
,,team
leader"
role
on

if
not all,
calls.
(If
the
call
is
particularly
difficult
or hazardous,
it
would
be
understood
if
the student
did

function
as
the
"team
leader".
If
the student
is
doing
a
particularly
poor
job
on
the call,
the
same
holds
true.

never
expect
that
you would
jeopardizethe

call

patient care.
