…to the Oxford English Centre!Here is the Social Activities Programme we’ve organised for you during your stay in Oxford.

In this booklet you will find details of all the activities planned for you during the time you are here. There is an activity on most days in the afternoon and/or evening. Please check in advance what you will be doing each day so you know where and when to meet and what to bring (e.g. sports gear).

Please see the attached sheet for details of Saturday excursions. Note that if you don’t have a pink student card, you need to book and pay for these excursions by Wednesday.

On your first day you may be shown some of the useful sites and MEETING PLACES around Oxford. The main meeting places are outside Caramba Café (in school) and at Carfax Tower. Please remember where these are!

SPORTS ACTIVITIES: please bring sports clothes and trainers.

And finally…It is very important that you carry your STUDENT CARD AT ALL TIMES. Without it, you may not be able to take part in some social activities. If you are 18 or over it is also very important that you carry ID (ID card /passport/driving license) if you want to drink alcohol or visit bars, pubs and clubs in the evening.

Academic Timetable

Lesson times will be:Lessons 1 & 2 09.00-10.30Lessons 3 & 4 10.50-12.20Fluency classes 13.15-14.45Specialist classes 15.00-16.30

If you are a 20-lesson student, you finish at 12.20, and if you are a 30-lesson student you finish at 14.45 or 16.30. Please make sure you know which you are so you don’t miss any lessons. Check with your group leader or Sasha or Mihoko in the office if you’re not sure.

JULY 2009 TOURS:

Sat 11th Warwick and Stratford Meet @ School car park 08.45 (bus leaves at 09.00)Excursion to one of England’s finest medieval castles, followed by a trip to Shakespeare’s birthplace.

Sat 18th London Meet @ School car park 08.45 (bus leaves at 09.00)A half day tour of London followed by free time for shopping and entrance into St. Pauls Cathedral.

Sat 25th August Windsor Castle and Eton College Meet @ School car park 08.45 (bus leaves at 09.00)Explore the Queen’s 900 year old castle, view Prince William and Harry’s old school and enjoy free time in the beautiful town of Windsor.

Sat 1st Bath Meet @ School car park 08.15 (bus leaves at 08.30)Wander through this picturesque Georgian City and visit the unique Roman Baths and beautiful medieval Abbey.

Saturday Excursions…

If you have a PINK student card the charge is included in your course fees. If you have a WHITE student card you must pay

for excursions in advance. Please see Verge in the office by Wednesday .
