Use
1) Never place hot objects or open flame sources, such as lighted candles or nightlights, on or close to the TV.Hightemperaturescanmeltplasticandleadtofires.
2) The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.WhenliquidsarespilledorsmallitemsaredroppedinsidetheTV,thismaycauseafireoranelectricshock.IfsmallobjectsdropinsidetheTV,turnofftheTVandremovethepowerplugfromtheoutletimmediatelyandcontactaservicetechnician.
3) Never insert objects (metal or paper) or pour water inside the TV through ventilation holes and other openings.Theseitemsmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.IftheseobjectsareinsertedinsidetheTV,turnofftheTVandremovethepowerplugfromtheoutletimmediatelyandcontactaservicetechnician.BeespeciallycarefulthatchildrendonotinsertobjectsintheTV.

4) When the TV will not be used for a long period of time, such as during vacation or travel, remove the power plug from the wall outlet for safety.•TheTVisnotcompletelydisconnectedfromthepowersupplyline,asminutecurrentisconsumedevenwhenthe1Powerswitchisturnedoff.
5) Never pull on the power cord when removing the plug from the wall outlet.Alwaysholdtheplugfirmlywhenremovingit.Ifthepowercordisyanked,thecordmaybecomedamagedandafireoranelectricshockmayoccur.
6) Never cut, break, modify, twist, bunch up or bent the cord or apply excessive force or tension to it.Neverplaceheavyobjectsonthecordorallowittooverheatasthismaycausedamage,afireoranelectricshock.Contactaservicetechnicianifthepowercordisdamaged.
7) If there is thunder or lightning, never touch the aerial cable or other connected cables.Youmaysufferanelectricshock.
Service1) Never repair, modify or disassemble the TV
by yourself.Itmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.Consultaservicetechnicianforinspectionandrepairs.
2) When a malfunction occurs, or if smoke or an unusual odor comes from the TV, turn off the TV and remove the power plug from the outlet immediately.Makesurethatthesmokeorsmellhasstopped,thencontactaservicetechnician.IftheTVisstillusedinthiscondition,itmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.
3) If the TV is dropped or the cabinet is broken, turn off the TV and remove the power plug from the outlet immediately.IftheTVhaspowerinthiscondition,itmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.Ifthecabinetisbroken,becarefulwhenhandlingtheTVtopreventaninjury.Contactaservicetechnicianforinspectionandrepair.
4) When the TV reaches the end of its useful life, ask a qualifi ed service technician to properly dispose of the TV.Note:Thelampunitcontainsasmallamountofmercury.Disposalofmercurymayberegulatedduetoenvironmentalconsiderations.Disposeoftheusedlampunitbytheapprovedmethodforyourarea.Fordisposalorrecyclinginformation,pleasecontactyourlocalauthorities.

Cleaning
1) Remove the power plug before cleaning.NeverusesolventssuchasbenzineorthinnertocleantheTV.•Thesesolventsmaydistortthecabinetordamageitsfinish.• IfrubberorvinylproductsremainincontactwiththeTVforalongtime,astainmayresult.Ifthecabinetbecomesdirty,cleanitwithasoft,drycloth.WhencleaningthesurfaceoftheLCDdisplay,wipethepanelsurfacegentlywithasoft,drycloth.
2) Periodically disconnect the power plug from the outlet and check it. If dust has collected on the power plug connectors, clean off the dust with a dry cloth.Thisdustmaycauseafireduetoreducedinsulationontheplug.

1) About LCD screen• IfyouhavetheLCDscreenfacingtothesun,theLCDscreenwillbedamaged.BeawareoflocatingtheTVclosetoawindoworoutdoors.•NeverpresstheLCDscreenstronglyorscratchit,andneverputanythingonit.TheseactionswilldamagetheLCDscreen.
2) About cabinet and LCD screenNeversprayvolatilecompoundssuchasinsecticideonthecabinetandLCDscreen.ThismaycauseadiscolourationordamagethecabinetandLCDscreen.
3) About afterimageIfastillpictureisdisplayed,anafterimagemayremainonthescreen,howeveritwilldisappear.Thisisnotasignofmalfunction.
4) Some pixels of the screen do not light upTheLCDdisplaypanelismanufacturedusinganextremelyhighlevelofprecisiontechnology,howeversometimessomepixelsofthescreenmaybemissingpictureelementsorhaveluminousspots.Thisisnotsignofmalfunction.
5) About InterferenceTheLCDdisplaymaycauseinterferenceinimage,sound,etc.ofotherelectronicequipmentthatreceiveselectromagneticwaves(e.g.AMradiosandvideoequipment).
6) About using under the low temperature placesIfyouusetheTVintheroomof0°Corless,thepicturebrightnessmayvaryuntiltheLCDmonitorwarmsup.Thisisnotasignofmalfunction.
Connecting an aerialOptimumreceptionofcolourrequiresagoodsignalandwillgenerallymeanthatanoutdooraerialmustbeused.Theexacttypeandpositioningoftheaerialwilldependuponyourparticulararea.YourToshibadealerorservicepersonnelcanbestadviseyouonwhichaerialtouseinyourarea.Beforeconnectingtheaerialcable,turnoffallmainpowerswitches.

Activating the Noise Reduction (NR)IfthereceivingsignalofMPEGisamosquito(grained)noisedependingonthecompressionandconversion,thepictureisweakandthepictureisblurry,thepicturemaybeimprovedwhenusingthisfunction.

Using the Advanced Sound SettingsBass Boosthelpstocreaterichbass.Voice Enhancementhelpstoemphasizedialogue.Itwillbeeasiertohearvoicesoverotherbackgroundaudio.
Using the Stable SoundTheStable Soundfunctionlimitsthehighestvolumeleveltopreventextremechangesinvolumewhenthesignalsourcechanges(forexample,topreventthesuddenincreaseinvolumethatoftenhappenswhenaTVprogrammeswitchestoacommercial).

Dynamic Range ControlThisfeatureallowscontrolofcompressionfordigitalaudiosignalexcludingthosewithMPEG-1andMPEG-2audio.

Note:TheTVwillautomaticallyturnitselfoffafterapproximately 2 hours if you do not operate the TVafterturnedonbyontimerfunction.
Using the Auto FormatWhentheTVreceivesatrueHDMIsignalpictureandtheAuto FormatisOn,itwillautomaticallybedisplayedinHDMIsignalformat,irrespectiveoftheTV’sprevioussetting.
Activating Blue ScreenWiththeBlue ScreenfunctionOn,thescreenwillautomaticallyturnblueandthesoundwillbemuted(exceptforPCinput)whennosignalisbeingreceived.
2 PressvorwtoselectOnorOff.Note:InthePCinputmodeorTeletextmode,thisfunction is not available.
Setting the Automatic Power DownTheTVwillautomaticallyturnitselfoff(standby)afterapproximately4hours,ifyoudon’ttouchthecontrolbuttonsontheremotecontrolorontheTVcontrolpanel.
1 FromtheFUNCTIONmenu,presssorrtoselectAutomatic Power Down.
