We encourage our cadets to access and use iStation & Imagine Math in addition to the weekly activities as these are customized to each student.

Overview of Virtual Learning for Cadets & Parents by Grade Level
Hello & Welcome to Virtual Learning! We are all learners in this process so give yourself grace and flexibility as we work to bring learning opportunities to our GFE families.
Teachers have provided more than enough learning tasks to keep your child’s brain exercising skills.
If they can’t do it all, that is ok. We just want to make sure you have plenty to keep them learning and engaged as many are working from home.
1. Each GFE Teacher has a Google Classroom & they have shared that classroom code with our families to join.
2. Each teacher will host virtual meetings for students to learn with their teacher weekly.
3. Each teacher has virtual office hours for parents and students to come and go from for questions and extra support.
4. Teachers will share their learning schedules and virtual hours with each family.
5. We understand that families are sharing devices, internet can run slow and that adults are working from home. Each grade level slide covers learning activities for 1 week.
6. We encourage our cadets to access and use iStation & Imagine Math in addition to the weekly activities as these are customized to each student.
Read a book with animal characters and draw your favorite character and write a sentence.
Read a book with a stuffed animal, draw a picture of the setting, and write a sentence.

Choose one activity.
-Write your words in a pencil and trace over each word with 6 different colors.-Use materials around the house to spell sight words. (rocks, cereal, beads)- Write each word on two cards and play memory.
Practice writing your first and last name 5 times. Start your name with a capital letter and make the other letters lowercase. Use the letter pathway handout attached for letter formation.
Try writing using different tools such as a pencil, marker, highlighter, etc.
***Daily- Count to 100 by 1’s and 10’s.
Choose one activity.
-Pour a small amount of cereal in a bowl. Count out 20 pieces and count backwards as you put them back in.
-Draw a picture and solve. Write an addition problem.___ +___ = ____
-Shape Hunt- Look for 2-D and 3-D Shapes. Draw a picture of 4 you find.
Science:Search: Classifying Animals-Watch video-Do easy Quiz-Play game- Sortify: Animals Jr.
Social Studies:Draw a map of your house. Locate places on the map and describe their locations.Use words including far, left, and right,

Read a Non-fiction book, and create a list of 7-10 text features in your book and tell what page they are on - books can also be found on GetEpic -use class code3. Extension Activity: Read to a family member or toy, and tell them the purpose of each feature you locate.

Telling Time to the MinuteAM & PM

Challenge:Create a daily schedule with an
analog clock! (What time do you eat breakfast? What time do you have free play time? Remember AM &
PM) Post it in your google classroom.
Investigating Rocks
1.Watch: Be a rock detective2. Rocks for kids! 3.Go find 5-10 rocks in your backyard, how can you describe them? Is it smooth? Is it shiny? Is it rough?
Challenge:Which rock is best to paint as a rock pet? Create a rock pet and post it in your google classroom.
- Turn on your alerts on dojo to be aware of important information from your students’ teacher!- Check your student’s teachers google classroom for extra activities!

1) Students will watch video on understanding text across genres via google classroom.2) Students will access powerpoint via google classroom, and follow instructions which include: writing about their favorite book, song, or research project using the 5 “w’s.”3) Students will be introduced to new vocabulary via google classroom.
