APR as Learning/KM Event

Evolution of APR workshops: 2004 to 2009• From IFAD-centric (internal processes and

procedures) to country- and participant-centered• Mirrors move toward country presence and direct

supervision and implementation support

• Handover from Ron to Martina as coordinator• “Direct implementation” of APR workshop

• Expanded role of KFs and KM techniques• Worked hard during weekend to prepare for event with

Allison, Lucie and Shalini

• Created social reporting blog on IFAD website• ifad-un.blogspot.com

• Set up café like atmosphere to encourage cross-country mingling and interaction• Please try to sit with participants from other countries

• The goal of the Asia and the Pacific annual performance review workshop is to enhance the implementation and impact of IFAD-funded development interventions in the region

• Secretariat staff will be posted next to LCD projector and flash time remaining cards during presentations

• Please write questions/comments on cards during presentations; will have Q&A at end of sessions

• All workshop documentation will be available on social reporting blog -- ifad-un.blogspot.com

• Free internet access: computers in secretariat (but not during sessions); WiFi in lobby (use LB01 network)

• Announcements about reimbursements when ready• Use and check bulletin board for messages

Suggested Workshop Norms

• Turn cell phones/Blackberries off (or silent) during sessions

• Maximize participation from everyone• Don’t let English be a barrier to sharing and learning• Be punctual; respect and manage time – “This is

everyone’s responsibility” (Siale, 28 Feb)• Be concise in plenary interventions from the floor;

moderators and facilitators given license to be Participatory Stalinists!
