This clutch will prevent the machine from driving the tractor when the operation of the PTO drive shaft has halted. The free running or overrunning direction is dependent on the drive direction of the PTO drive shaft. Overrunning clutches will not absorb any energy, so inertia start-up peaks must be dampened by other means.
