Outstanding Facility Piano classes will be held in Maine Central Institute’s Visual and Performing Arts Education Center in the Piano Studio on the first floor of the building. Each student will work on their own 88 key digital piano with weighted keys. Headphones with multiple outputs are utilized to provide sound isolation and focused practice and instruction during group classes. Students will also have access to a Yamaha P22 Upright Acoustic piano during the course of the class. About Linda Snow Linda Snow has taught private piano lessons as well as classroom and vocal music in Maine public schools for 35 years. She has also performed as a church musician for most of her career. She currently teaches classroom and vocal music at Skowhegan Area Middle School to students in grades 6-8. In addition, she currently plays the organ every Sunday at the First Congregational Church in Pittsfield. After a 12-year absence, she is grateful and delighted to once again work with students from Pittsfield and surrounding towns. She is looking forward to learning new music with a new group of piano students! Mrs. Snow lives in Pittsfield with her husband, Peter Snow, a retired history teacher and coach, along with their four quirky cats and two devoted dogs. Piano Class at M.C.I. Program Cost

$60 per six week session to be paid in full to Linda Snow at the start of the session. (Cost of Method Books is not included in the fee).

Make Up Week

An additional week following the six week program will be available as a make up class if needed. Student/parent must communicate with the instructor if this is desired.

Multi-Age and Multi-Level Students of all ages and all ability levels are welcome to enroll in the classes from beginner to advanced students; young and not so young. Each class is structured to provide individual instruction to meet the needs of each student. The primary source used in the piano curriculum is Alfred Publishing’s Basic Adult Piano Course however, supplemental solo materials are used as well as other method materials depending upon the student’s level of proficiency.

Piano method books are not included in the cost of the class. Purchase information for the books will be provided at the time of registration or in the first week of instruction. Students will receive some sheet music for solos during the class at no cost to them.

Evening Classes Class #1: Tuesday’s 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Class #2: Thursday’s 6:30-8:00 p.m.

90 minute classes which will feature individual instruction along with guided practice. Students will select one of the two classes to attend weekly throughout the six week session. Each class is limited to 10 students.

Classes are structured in six week sessions. Session #1 will begin the week of September 25 and conclude November 1 . The week of November 6 will serve as a make up week if needed.

Students may sign up for additional sessions throughout the year. Starting dates for additional sessions will be announced during the first session.
