After Mass we begin our tour of Fati-ma where we will experience the beauty of this spiritual town. We will see the Basilica, the site of Francesco and Jacinta's graves, the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived, and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's return from prison. Experience Christ's love as you walk and follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra (The Sa-cred Way) culminating in the Chapel of Calvary, which over-looks all of Fatima. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous well. Attend the blessing of the sick and participate in nightly candlelight processions requested by Our Lady. Time for private devotions before dinner and a restful night's sleep. We will celebrate Mass at this holy site. We’ll visit the walled city of Obidos and its medieval castle. This hillside loca-tion offers beautiful views of the Estremadura area. Day 06 | Saturday, April 9: Lyon - La Salette - Lyon After breakfast we depart for La Salette located in a high alpine pasture in the French Alps. La Salette is the site where the Vir-gin Mary appeared in 1846 to two shepherds, Melanie Matthew and Maximin Gird. Our Lady appeared to these shepherds cry-ing, lamenting over the lack of observance of Sundays and the profaning of her Son's holy name. A spring forever marks the spot where the Virgin appeared and where millions of pilgrims come to in order to drink the fresh spring water and to pray. The stunning mountain scenery and lush mountain trails make La Salette one of the most spectacular pilgrimage sites in France, with a beautiful Basilica built to honor the Virgin Mary. In 1996 La Salette celebrated the 150th anniversary of Our Lady's first appearance. We return to Lyon for dinner and overnight.
Day 07 | Sunday, April 10: Lyon - Rocamadour Today we’ll visit Rocamadour, which was the home of an early Christian hermit named, Zaccheus of Jericho. Zaccheus was the husband of St. Veronica, who wiped the face of Jesus as he climbed to Calvary. This morning’s visit will include the Shrine of Our Lady of Rocamadour. A complex of religious structures centered on a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary and the tomb of an ancient saint. We’ll have dinner and overnight here. Day 08 | Monday, April 11: Rocamadour - Conques – Roca-madour This morning, enjoy an excursion to the nearby town of Conques, another important medieval site, used as a stopping point on a pilgrims’s way to the Camino to Santiago de Compo-stela. The town of Conques is nestled on a hill overlooking two rivers, and has such well-maintained medieval streets that most visitors must enter on foot as vehicles are unable to enter on a regular basis. Conques is known for the Abbey Church of St. Foy, dedicated to the local Saint Foy (Saint Faith or Santa Fe), a young virgin martyred in the 3rd or 4th century AD for her re-fusal to make pagan sacrifices under torture. Her relics are housed at the Abbey of the same name. After our tour, we re-turn to Rocamadour for dinner & overnight. Day 09 | Tuesday, April 12: Rocamadour - Toulouse - Lourdes After an early breakfast we make our way to Toulouse. Once an important Roman colony, Toulouse is full of religious and histor-ical treasures. The Basilica of St. Sernin is one of the finest Romanesque churches in France. St. Thomas Aquinas is buried in the Eglise des Jacobins, and it is also the proud home of 20 historical pipe organs (more than any other city in France). After our tour, we will continue South on to Lourdes. Below the moun-tains stands picturesque Lourdes, the birthplace of St. Berna-dette to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858 near the Grotto of Massabielle. We arrive in time for dinner at our hotel before re-tiring to our rooms for a restful night's sleep. Day 10-11 | Wednesday-Thursday, April 13 -14: Lourdes During the next two days in Lourdes you will have time to pray with your fellow pilgrims from around the world. During your trip you will have an opportunity to attend Mass at the Grotto, watch a video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette. See the Boly Mill where St. Berna-dette was born, and the "Cachot," an abandoned prison where Bernadette's impoverished family lived. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous spring or immerse yourself in the healing baths. Experience Christ's love as you walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the holy Grotto. Kneel in the chapel built on the very rock of the Grotto, in obedience to the request of the "Immaculate Conception." Evenings are free for optional Blessed Sacrament Procession before dinner. Your role in the Universal Church will have new meaning as you join the candlelight procession and group rosary. Day 12 | Friday, April 15: Lourdes - Pau/Toulouse Airport - Dallas Early morning transfer to the airport for your return flights home with memories for a lifetime .
