• 89.81% of the post offices are in rural areas. India post is actively involved in MGNREGS which is one of the most important povert alleviation programme of Government of India.
• A Post office serves 21.21 Sq. km. covering 7176 people on an average
• To benefit the rural areas we are associated distribution of cash in various welfare scheme– MGNREGS(National Rural Employment
Granted Scheme)– Social security schemes of state govts
