Our Vision - Our Own Field of Dreams
Orrell & Winstanley Community Sports Club Development Fund
Orrell RUFC and Winstanley Park CC have joined forces to develop a new Community Sports
club. The clubs have signed a 99-year lease for the 13-acre site, situated next to Winstanley
College, which will provide a permanent home for both organisations and an opportunity to
boost their thriving junior sections.
The new family orientated facilities will play host to Orrell RUFC, who will finally have a
home, ten years after leaving their Edgehall Road ground.
Playing a key role in the local community, the new location will be available to other
community groups, with a focus on providing a sporting outlet for children and will feature
two rugby pitches and a cricket pitch with clubhouse and changing rooms.
The clubs have invested a significant amount into the project – designed & built in three
phases - and are looking to raise funds to start the project – now that we have secured
planning permission.
Our fundraising team are working hard researching grants and sponsorship options that we
can apply for but now we really need your help to start the rugby ball rolling. We are asking
supporters and members of the Club to become a Community Fund member by donating (or
making a pledge to donate) to our newly created Trust Fund.
Any donation - big or small, will mean you will become part of the fabric of this new and
exciting community hub.
The implementation plan is to phase the development as funds allow, and begins with the
preparation and seeding of the land, allowing the pitches to be used as soon as possible.
So, how would you like to plant the seeds and be part of our Proud History – Bright Future;
a unique opportunity for you to play a part in the regeneration of our club.
Our own Field of Dreams – Build it and they will come.
To register your interest in this unique opportunity, please complete your details below.
