Speak Out: enhanced whistleblowing
8
Speak Out launched in September 2015: An enhanced global
whistleblowing process and case management system
Concerns may be reported 24/7 via a dedicated website or telephone hotlines
The global introduction of Speak Out took place between September 2015
and January 2016
Supported by a wide-ranging awareness campaign to encourage employees
to raise concerns through the company whistleblowing systems
Speak Out’s new case management system provides G4S management with
greater level of visibility of the issues and common themes
Usage of Speak Out is increasing – though more work is required.
We will continue to focus on business employee awareness and confidence in
Speak Out.

Background
31
Securing Our People
Diversity and inclusion
Overall 14.0% of employees are female
Continue to work with businesses to improve representation of women in supervisory positions and the talent pipeline
Continue to use cultural awareness training tool
32
Securing Our People
Employee relations
Levels of union membership vary and reflect cultural and
regulatory environments
For example, within the US where union membership tends to be
lower, there are fewer collective agreements and those in place
apply to all major competitors in the market
More than half of G4S businesses have no collective agreements
In a third of our businesses at least half of the employees are
covered by collective agreements
In Europe, including the UK, we have constructive and well
established Works Council
Global Ethical Employment Partnership with UNI provides a
framework for constructive relationships with unions around the
world and continues to differentiate G4S in the marketplace
