Beaver Falls Beavers
A Note From the Commish....
Pictured on this year's cover are the 4 players who scored for the Beaver Falls Beavers in their successful defense of
the Edward T. Benway Trophy in 2015-16. The 4 produced 38 points which, as it turned out, was more than 6 times as
many as they needed. Allen Hurns and Tyler Lockett were also in the Beavers' winning lineup, giving them 4 starters who
were not in the lineup that won the 2014-15 title. That's enough about me. What do YOU think about me?
After setting new records for scoring in 2014, we fell back some in 2015. About 5 years back. Drew Brees managed to
tie the single game scoring record with 42 points in week #8. And that very same game produced two other scoring records:
The most points by a losing team and the most total points by both teams. The Bombers beat Brees and the Pieces 70-61.
While we had bad news on the scoring front, we had good news on the financial front. Including current receivables, our
league coffers have swollen to more than $2,000 prior to 2016 activity. That has afforded the league to make a one-time re-
duction in the annual dues for the coming year. The Bears, Big Dogs, Bombers, Dragons, Gerbils, Icemen, Panthers and
Pieces each owe $250 for 2016 dues. Due to a clerical error on the part of the league treasurer, the Beavers, Busters, Pud-
men and Zombies each owe $270 for 2016 dues. As always, all money is due by August 1st. Consider this your invoice.
While this is a one-time reduction based upon an accumulation of funds over several years, it is expected that future years
will also be receiving smaller discounts from the $400 annual fee, as based upon transaction revenues. Prize money will NOT
be changed as a result of these rebates.
The FUNFL has always been a QB-weighted league, but never moreso than at the present time. In January, we sent out
a pdf file containing several current FUNFL records. The 2nd to last page included a positional look at all players with more
than 30 FUNFL starts over the past 37 years, and sorted by average points scored per game. Among the top 15 running
backs on the list, there were 2 current players listed. Among the top 15 quarterbacks on the list, there were 9 players listed,
including all of the top 6! It's time for us to make hay while the sun shines. Let's get after that 2014 scoring record in 2016.
************
As already mentioned, your annual dues are payable by August 1st for the forthcoming season. The tab is either $250
or $270 per team, depending on whether you were charged for the correct number of transactions last year. Please send
your check(s) payable to me, personally, (not FUNFL) and send them to 1527 Pine Tree Ct., Lisle, IL 60532. We will meet
once again at Gatto's Restaurant in downtown Downers Grove. Food is at 6:00 pm and the draft will start at 6:30 pm on
Wednesday night, September 7, 2016. The NFL season starts the next night - Carolina @ Denver in an SB50 rematch.
We only meet as a group once per year and the meeting is always on the Wednesday night before the first game of
the NFL season. Please annually arrange to attend this event. Each team MUST be represented or it will risk forfeiture
of its franchise rights. There are 51 OTHER weeks for your vacation. The Winter Harbor Icemen are on the clock.
After 16 years in Owls Head, Maine, the Hooters exercised the Irsay Rule and moved east of everybody except the
Lubec Dragons and the Baileyville BIg Dogs. That move put the Icemen franchise back in the East Division where they
played from 2000-2014 before getting bumped into the Central when the Dragons moved to Lubec a year ago. Now it's
the Bangor Bears who are getting bumped back into the Central, where they last played in 2005.
*********
Cuts must be posted to the Rtsports Message Board by noon on Monday, August 29, 2016. Cut down to 12 or fewer
total roster size, draft back up to 17 players. Injured Reserve starts immediately following the draft. Waiver Wire and Free
Agency start on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, following the games of NFL week #1.
Ed note: The Positional Analyses herein make frequent reference to player rankings. These rankings are the average
of the most current available post NFL draft numbers for Dynasty Leagues only. Since we are a 12-team league, any
player ranked in the top 12 at his position would be a QB1, RB1, K1, etc. A QB with an average rank of 75th, for example,
would be a QB7, and probably only belongs in a 36-team league. You get the drift.
For 2015, the average roster turnover was 49%. (A minimum of 29% is mandated by pre-season cuts.)

The Big Dogs QBs were S.O.L., dropping from 1/7 to 9/9 in the QB rankings in 2015. Andrew Luck missed 2 of the
first 9 games and never played again for the Colts last year. And he wasn't himself in the 7 games he did show up in.
Derek Carr got his first real FUNFL action and put up starter-worthy totals. Both Luck (#1overall) and Carr (#9 overall)
rank as QB1s. The schedule-makers, however, have them both on bye in week #10 in 2016. With the 4th pick in the
draft, the Dogs will need a starter. Will RGIII still be starting by week #10? The Bangor Bears hope not. Or hope so?

Matt Forte scored 20 fewer NFL points in 2015 than in 2014, but he still managed a starter-worthy 44, tying him for
11th place among all RBs. Mark Ingram was only 6 points behind and in 20th place with 38. C.J. Anderson continued
to split time in Denver and 2 of his 5 NFL TDs came too late to help the Pups. Carlos Hyde started like a house afire but
never played after week #7. Things look much brighter for Baileyville RBs going forward as both Hyde and Ingram are
ranked as RB1s and Anderson is an RB2. The two older guys are falling off, however. Forte drops to an RB3 and Justin
Forsett is ranked as a low RB4 for dynasty purposes, behind both rookie Kenneth Dixon and Buck Allen in Baltimore.

A.J. Green, who was hurt much of 2014, came back to lead the team's receivers in scoring in 2015. He was the only Big
Dogs receiver with starter-worthy numbers, scoring 10 NFL TDs. Demaryius Thomas and T.Y. Hilton both lost their claims
to starter-worthiness with 6 and 5 NFL TDs, respectively. TE Delanie Walker was actually the 2nd highest scorer at this
position with 38 NFL points, but Walker didn't join the Doggies until week #11, too late to help. The dynasty experts
paint a glowing picture for Coach Mike, going forward. Green and Thomas are both WR1s, Hilton and DeVante Parker
are both WR2s, and Walker and Clive Walford are both TE2s. The sun will come out, tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar.

In 2015, Stephen Gostkowski became the first kicker in FUNFL history to score the most kicking points for a third year
in a row. (He also won the title in 2008.) The Big Dogs will have to find a kicker to go up against the Icemen in week #9.
Stephen now holds the top 1,2,3 and 4 spots in the team's single season record book. (And they were the last 4 years!)

Outlook- Fantasy football is a game of Luck, and the Big Dogs ran out of it in 2015. After shattering the FUNFL record with 611
points in 2014, the injury-racked Pups tallied 191 fewer points in 2015. A healthy Andrew Luck, combined with some-
thing approaching 2014 levels from the RB corps plus 2013 levels from the receivers, and the Pups can become
the ferocious Dogs once again. It would be a surprise if they used the 4th pick in the 2016 draft on a 3rd string QB.
2015 Highlight
After a year with 7 scores of 50 points or more and 5 - $50 weekly prizes, the Big Dogs had to settle for 2 scores of 50
or more and 1 measly $50 weekly win. That one came with 54 points in week #7, and was the middle of 3 consecutive
wins that brought the Dogs to 4-4. Three straight losses after that put a virtual end to their playoff hopes, however.

FUNFL is a Quarterback dominated league, and the Bears ranking dropped from 8/9 to 11/10 in 2015. It's pretty re-
markable that they produced a 7-7 W-L record, missing the playoffs on a tie-breaker by 19 points. Ryan Tannehill was
the 16th highest scoring NFL QB and Jay Cutler was 21st. They split the duty for Bangor, starting 8 and 6 games, respec-
tively. Cutler was generally credited with having his best season in Chicago under the tutelage of Adam Gase. Now Gase
is in Miami working with Tannehill. Ryan got another boost when Laremy Tunsil fell to the Dolphins due to phony draft
info. I know I've written this before, but expect THIS to be the year that Tannehill comes into his own.

DeMarco Murray's decision to bolt to Philadelphia was generally considered to be a failure, but he DID manage to score
7 TDs, enough to get his name in bold print on the previous page. Jonathan Stewart (7 TDs) and Chris Ivory (8TDs) also
show up in bold print, making this the strength of the Bangor roster. Murray has bolted again, this time for Tennessee,
where they have a ton of RBs, including rookie Heisman winner, Derrick Henry. Ivory, too, has taken a Jet out of New York
to Jacksonville, where T.J. Yeldon was supposed to be the guy. The dynasty experts are not kind here. Murray is still an RB2,
but Ivory and Stewart are both strong RB4s. It gets ugly after that, with Rashad Jennings at RB6 and Bishop Sankey at RB9.

Doug Baldwin was first acquired by the erstwhile St. George Dragons in 2011. He was then acquired by the Beaver Falls
Beavers on 3 separate occasions. He had 0 FUNFL points in 1 FUNFL appearance before the Bangor Bears drafted him at
the start of 2015. From 2011 through 2014 he averaged fewer than 4 TDs per year with the Seattle Seahawks. Last year he
had scored 3 times in the first 10 games. Then he went bonkers. Baldwin scored 11 TDs over the last 6 NFL games to tie
Brandon Marshall and Allen Robinson with 14 TDs for most for the year. 4 of those counted for Bangor. No other Bears rec-
eiver had more than 1, The dynasty experts are non-believers, however, ranking Baldwin as a WR4. The rest of the Bangor
WRs are ranked WR5 or worse . Martellus Bennett, who has moved from Chicago to New England is ranked as a mid TE2.

Steven Hauschka continues to get it done for Seattle and Bangor. This year's 127 points was below his average as Seattle
scored too many TDs in 2015, but 127 still tied him with actual Bear, Robbie Gould, for 8th most by an NFL kicker.

Outlook- The current management took over this franchise in 2005, after it had finished last in the Central Division 4 of the pre-
ceding 5 years. When they finished last in the league that year, they wisely jumped immediately to to East Division,
where they have posted one 4th place finish, three 3rds, four 2nds and two 1st place finishes. Unfortunately for the
Bears, four other franchises have now moved east of Bangor, and the Bears find themselves back in the Central Division in
2016. The overall movement from 12/12 to 10/9 shows signs of life.
2015 Highlight
Sitting at 4-6, the situation looked pretty bleak for the Bears in 2015. They proceeded to win 3 of their last 4 games,
and, with week #14 losses by the Big Dogs and Pieces, the Bears' 47-19 pasting of the Pudmen actually forced the
Bombers to have to win in order to take the final playoff spot. Unfortunately for Bangor, the Bombers did.

The FUNFL Peyton Manning Era lasted 14 years during which he averaged 190 points per regular season and won the
"most points by a QB title" 7 times. The FUNFL Eli Manning Era is already 11 years old during which he has averaged
95 points per regular season. Eli has only played 6 games for the Bombers, but he started with a 6 TD effort against
the Pieces in the record-breaking week #8 game, (see 2015 Highlight below). The Bombers will need some back-up
here, as the only QB on the roster without a 2016 week #8 bye is Geno Smith. Will there be a QB available at pick #7?

The 9/11 ranking isn't very impressive, but it is a step up from 12/12. Ryan Mathews produced starter-worthy NFL
numbers with 7 TDs. Looking forward, however, Mathews and Charles Sims both hold RB3 rankings, while Buck Allen
is an RB4. It is far more likely that a decent RB will be there at pick #7. The early post-draft rankings show 5 RBs ahead
of Mathews a & Sims: Ezekiel Elliott; Derrick Henry; Kenneth Dixon; C.J. Prosise and Devontae Booker. (Hint, hint.)

In Odell Beckham's 1st almost-full season, he scored 13 TDs in 15 games, tying him for 4th most points by a receiver.
Odell was suspended one game for going batcrap crazy when he was matched up with Josh Norman in week #15. He
missed NFL week #16, so it didn't matter to the Bombers, as they were eliminated in week #15. Jeremy Maclin (8 TDs)
and John Brown (7 TDs) also produced starter-worthy numbers in 2015. The outlook for the future is bright as Beckham
is ranked as a WR1 (#1 overall) and so is Kevin White, the Bears' #1 pick who sat out 2015. Dorial Green-Beckham, (no
relation), joins Brown and Maclin as WR3s. Good enough to start in our league.

Sebastian Janikowski and Matt Prater scored 101 and 102 NFL points last year, and represent a good place to start

Outlook- With the end of an era fast approaching, the Bombers filled their QB need with Eli Manning, who is younger than both
Peyton and Archie. Will it be just a stopgap measure? Or will Eli stick around as long as his older brother did? If he can
last as long as Peyton, the Bombers should count on 5 more years of service, 3 of which should be pretty good years.
The Bombers pick 7th in the 2016 draft, and will probably be looking for a running back. They are set for life at the re-
ceiver position and can wait a few rounds to get a kicker.
2015 Highlight
After a 2-5 start, the Bombers traded Larry Fitzgerald and their 4th round pick in the next draft to the Pudmen for Eli
Manning, the younger brother of the Bombers long-time super star, Peyton Manning. In week #8, Eli debuted for Bay
City with 36 points, to lead the team to a 70-61 victory over the Cape Cod Pieces. The game is the highest scoring game
in the league's 37 year history. The 70 points is the 7th most ever, and the 61 points by the PIeces is the highest losing
score in FUNFL history. After a week #9 loss, the Bombers proceeded to win 4 of their last 5 and make the playoffs.

Tony Romo went down (as usual) so the QB job mostly fell to ancient Carson Palmer, a 2014 Hooters cast-off. Palmer
scored 216 regular season NFL points, 4th most by any QB. Meanwhile, Blake Bortles, who only got to start twice in the
regular season for the Beavers, put up 224 regular season NFL points, 3rd most by any QB. Coach Jake Fox DID allow
Bortles to play in the Semi-final playoff game, but he went back to Palmer for the Super Bowl. Fox can be stubborn. Bor-
tles, Palmer and Romo rank as QB1, QB2 and QB3, in that order, according to dynasty experts.

Jeremy Hill was considered a rookie sensation in 2014, scoring 54 NFL points for the Bengals, and helping lead the
Beavers to an eventual Edward T.Benway Trophy. In 2015, he was considered a major disappointment, in spite of the fact
that he scored 74 NFL points, 20 more than in his rookie year. Beavers coach Jake Fox didn't trust him, benefitting from
barely half of Hill's points. He DID, however, play Hill in week #4, when he scored 20 points to help beat Kansas City and
Lubec. The Beavers were actually the high points winners that week with 34! In 2015, another 54-point rookie showed up
in the NFL. Maybe someday Fox will let Karlos Williams actually start for the Beavers. Going forward, Hill, LeSean McCoy,
and Duke Johnson are all rated as RB 2s, good enough to start.. Williams is only an RB3.

Antonio Brown and Randall Cobb were the keys to the Beavers 2014 title, but they scored a combined 9 fewer TDs in
2015. In addition to Brown and Cobb, the Beavers DID get starter quality numbers from newcomers Allen Hurns and Ty-
ler Lockett. The eight receivers totalled 324 NFL points but only 118 FUNFL points. 8 is not enough - it's too many. The
current ratings on these guys are Brown at WR1, Cobb and Jarvis Landry at WR2, Lockett at WR3, Hurns at WR4 and the
other 3 guys at WR8 or worse. Some culling here is in order. Do you think Fox knows that?

points last year, while Chris only scored 113. Chris only played in 12 games, however. Do you think Fox noticed?

Outlook- After winning the FUNFL Super Bowl in 2014, the Beavers kicked out their GM and Head Coach and brought in two new
guys: GM Ryan Trot and HC Jake Fox. The new guys combined to draft nobody that actually scored any points for the team
in 2015. They faired a little better in the Free Agency and Waiver Wire department, but not that much. GM Trot pulled off
a mid-season trade for LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams which has yet to pay dividends. Picking last for the 2nd year in
a row, the Beavers are mainly looking for coaching help. The new GM may still pan out. Six teams have won back-to-back
FUNFL Super Bowls. The Beavers have now done it twice. (Faulk n' Favre in 1998-1999.) No team has ever won 3 in a row.
2015 Highlight
Winning a second straight Super Bowl was actually a bummer, as the opponent failed to show up. Winning the West Div-
ision was way more exciting. With 2 weeks to go, the Beavers were a game and a half behind, due to the tie-breakers.
They needed to win twice and have the Busters lose twice. Guess what. The Beavers won twice and the Busters lost twice.
Do you believe in miracles?

It's probably not the most desirable statistic, but the Busters tied with the Hooters (now Icemen) for the greatest num-
ber of starting QBs in 2015. Matthew Stafford led with a plurality of 6 starts, producing 78 points, enough to earn him
a picture on the previous page, as he surpassed Terrell Owens as the Busters' all-time leading scorer. Marcus Mariota,
however, with a ranking of #5 overall, is the team's top QB looking forward. Both guys are QB1s, while Joe Flacco and
Sam Bradford are rated as QB3s by the dynasty experts. Maybe there will only be 2 starters in 2016.

Improving from 12/12 in 2013 to 2/2 in 2016 might be some kind of record. (I'll have to check.) 3 Busters RBs came
home with starter-worthy report cards. Unfortunately, due to lineup constraints, only 2 of them ever saw the field in an
actual FUNFL game. Devote Freeman only scored twice as a rookie for Atlanta in 2014, so Atlanta went out and drafted
Tevin Coleman in the 3rd round. Coleman got hurt early, and Freeman went into a phone booth and came out as Priest
Holmes. He scored 10 TDs between week #2 and week #6 for the Falcons, and 9 TDs between week #3 and week #6
for the Busters. His 60 FUNFL points led all RBs in 2015. Both Freeman and Lamar Miller are rated RB1s going for-
ward, and the 3rd starter-worthy guy in 2015, Jeremy Langford, is now an RB3. I guess the dynasty experts figure that
Jordan Howard's arrival in Chicago will outweigh Matt Forte's absentia.

Before the regular season even started, the Busters lost their top 2 receivers with season-long injuries. They still man-
aged to put up 3 WRs with bold-faced names on the previous page. With Jordy Nelson and Kelvin Benjamin returning,
Martavis Bryant decided it was OK to take 2016 off. There is still an embarassment of riches at this position. DeAndre
Hopkins and Julio Jones are ranked as the 3rd and 4th top WRs going forward, while the two returnees, Benjamin and
Nelson are WR2s. Breshard Perriman is a WR3 and the other 3 guys are all WR4s. WR4s start on a lot of FUNFL teams.

2014 Rookie Cody Parkey set a new Busters record for Kicker points a year ago. Then he got hurt 3 weeks into 2015.
5 guys wound up kicking for the Busters last year, scoring only 91 total points. The 3 guys left on the roster are all to be
considered as Cannon (Ball) fodder.

Outlook- Cannon Ball was devastated by the loss of two of their top players before the 2015 season even began. Kelvin Benjamin
and Jordy Nelson were both lost for the year during training camp. Additional time was missed by 3 of their QBs, their
top RB and still another top receiver. And they still made the playoffs! What happens if they stay healthy in 2016? They
are tied with the Big Dogs for 2nd most positional 1s on their rosters, with 6. (The Pieces have 7.)
2015 Highlight
In week #3 of 2015, Devonta Freeman scored the 1st of two back-to-back hat tricks to lead the Busters to a 53-44
win over the Dragons. That was the start of a 4 game winning streak which left the Busters atop the West Division with
a 5-1 record. They never relinquished the West Division lead until week #14, but they easily made the playoffs for the
5th time in the last 6 seasons.

Drew Brees started 13 games for the Pieces in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. That's every game except the bye
week. In 2015, Drewbie missed week #3 due to an injury, and Jameis Winston made his Cape Cod debut scoring 6
points. Mark Sanchez stopped by and filled in with 12 points during week 11, Drew's bye week. Then, inexplicably,
Winston again got the start in week #14, and produced another 6 points. Brees, meanwhile sat on the bench with 12.
The Pieces lost to the Gerbils 35-34 and finished 6-8, instead of 7-7. The 7-7 Bombers made the playoffs on the
strength of their 417 points. With Brees in week #14, the Pieces would have scored 483 points. The dynasty experts
rank both Brees and Winston as QB 1s. Zach Mettenberg is a QB5 who was waived this morning.

The top 4 Pieces RBs finished 2nd, 4th, 5th and t6th in total NFL points in 2015 with 272 NFL points between them.
Unfortunately, only 78 of those points translated to the FUNFL. The top two scorers, David Johnson and DeAngelo
Williams only got 4 total starts for Cape Cod, producing only 2 TDs. It's going to get even worse. The experts rank Todd
Gurley #1, David Johnson #4, and Adrian Peterson #11 among RB1s for dynasty purposes. Right behind is Dion Lewis
at an RB2. The rest of the RBs are ranked RB5 or worse. We have seen it many times before. Too much talent at any
given position leads to playing the wrong guys almost every week.

Two Pieces WRs, Allen Robinson and Brandon Marshall, tied with the Bangor Bears' Doug Baldwin, for the most points
by a receiver in 2015. All 3 scored 14 TDs. Robinson played only sparingly for the 1st half of the year, and Marshall was
only acquired through a trade with the Dragons after week #6. Marshall broke a Pieces'record by scoring in the last 6
consecutive games of 2015. The old record was 4 in a row, held by many. Going forward, Jimmy Graham still ranks as a
TE1, while Robinson is a WR1. Donte Moncrief, Marshall and Michael Floyd are all high WR3s. Josh Gordon is a WR4.

The Pieces are one of two FUNFL teams to carry 3 kickers. Their Mike Nugent is the only one of the 6 that produced star-
ter-worthy numbers in 2015. But he didn't get any for Cape Cod. As it currently stands, the Pieces will need to make 7
cuts for 2016. Mason Crosby's 70 points in 2015 moved him into 15th place on the lifetime FUNFL kicker list. Will that
be enough to save his job?

Outlook- How does a team that ties for the 2nd most points wind up with a losing record? By giving up the 8th most points in
the HISTORY of the LEAGUE, that's how! The Pieces gave up 502 points in 2015, for an average of 35.86 per game. The
drops in the overall rankings from 1/3 to 2/2 to 9/1 over the past two years can be attributed to the drops at the QB
and K positions. This is a QB and K league. With the 5th pick in the draft, however, they might want to be looking at a
linebacker or defensive secondary player.
2015 Highlight
In 2015 week #8 the Pieces scored 61 points, the 2nd most by any team in the whole year. Unfortunately, they were
up against the Bombers that week, who scored 70 points, the most by any team in the whole year. The Pieces set a
new FUNFL record for most points in a losing effort. On a "higher" highlight note, 2015 will probably be better remem-
bered as the year they drafted Todd Gurley. Or maybe David Johnson. Or maybe Jameis Winston. Or maybe.....

The Gerbils QB rank dropped from 2 to 6 for the starter, while the bench rank jumped from 10 to 3. Amazingly, 7 NFL
QBs outscored Aaron Rodgers in 2015, even though only 1 FUNFL QB managed that trick. (Tom Terrific.) 2013 Free
Agency acquisition, Ryan Fitzpatrick scored only 2 fewer NFL points than Rodgers, while 2015 draft pick, Tyrod Tay-
lor added 146 points to the mix. Rodgers is the only Gay Head QB with a QB1 ranking (3rd overall.) Taylor is ranked
as a high QB3, while Fitzpatrick is currently a mid QB3. At this writing, he still hasn't signed with anybody for 2016.

LeGarrette Blount and Frank Gore each tallied 7 NFL TDs in 2015. Combined, they managed 7 FUNFL TDs. Two non-
butlers named Alfred (Morris and Blue) added 24 more NFL points but only 6 more for the Gerbils. Melvin Gordon,
the #3 pick in the 2015 FUNFL Draft, set a new Rookie Bust record on the NFL level, with 0 points. (On the FUNFL level,
the record is held by Ryan Mathews, who failed to score for the Beavers in 2010, after being the #1 overall pick in that
year's FUNFL draft. The record was challenged in 2014 by the Big Dogs and Carlos Hyde, who also failed to score for
the Dogs that year. (But Carlos was overall pick #2, not #1.) Incredibly, Gordon is ranked as an RB1 going forward. Past
that, the Rats have 3 RB5s and an RB9.

Eric Decker and James Jones both appear in bold print on the previous page. Barring another late move, Jones will have
a hard time repeating, as he is currently unemployed. But that didn't stop him last year. Decker is ranked as a WR3 by
the dynasty guys. Last year, he played in 15 games for the Jets, scoring a single TD in 12 of those 15 games. The Gerbils
picked him up after week #2 and started playing him in week #6. He scored 6 points 6 times after that. DeSean Jack-
son is next best at WR5. The rest of this group is ranked as WR8 or worse. Some of them much worse.

After finishing dead last in kicker rankings in 2013 and 2014, the Gerbils jumped all the way up to 3rd place as Chand-
ler Catanzaro booted home 137 points for the Arizona Cardinals and 106 points for the Gerbils.

Outlook- The Gerbils' 10-4 record was largely attributed to their defense. They were the 3rd highest scoring team in the Central
Division, behind the 6-8 Pieces and the 8-6 Panthers. However, they allowed 87 fewer points than the Panthers and
140 points fewer than the Pieces. Their overall ranking of 5/6 is nice, but the Pieces are ranked 1/1.
2015 Highlight
The Gerbils won $50 in week #3, when they beat the Zombies 57-15. That was the start of a 4 game winning streak
that was temporarily halted in week #7, before they put up a 5 game winning streak that lasted all the way through
week #12. Their 10-4 record got them the #1 seed and a 1st round bye in the playoffs. They then beat the Panthers in
the Semi-Finals 34-31. Unfortunately, their bus to the Super Bowl took a bad turn, and they haven't been seen since.

Prior to 2015, 3 QBs for this franchise had scored 30 points in one game to tie for the team lead. Steve Young (1994),
Scott MItchell (1996) and Tony Romo (2007). Cam Newton scored 30 points 3 times in 2015 alone! In week #11, he
beat the Pieces 52-29; in week #14, he beat the Big Dogs 36-21; and in week #15, the first round of the playoffs, he
beat the Bombers 51-41. One year ago, this team boasted of 3 QB1s in the expert rankings. Now they only have one.
Superman led all NFL QBs with 270 regular season points and is ranked #2 overall. Matt Ryan is a high QB2, while
Teddy Bridgewater has slipped to a low QB2.

The Dragons RBs were decimated by the early losses of Jamaal Charles and Arian Foster. Charles still managed to lead
the team with 30 points, which were scored 6, 6, and 18 in the 1st 3 games of the year. He also had scored in 2014 in
each of the final 8 regular season games. He broke the franchise record of 9 consecutive games scoring by a RB set
by Emmitt Smith in 1994 & 1995. He also broke the FUNFL RB Bye-Week Era record of 10 games set by Paineville's
LaDainian Tomlinson in 2005 and again in 2007. Wendell Tyler of the Bombers is the only other RB to score in 11
consecutive games, but Wendell did it in 1983, before the Bye-Weeks started. The outlook for Dragons RBs is much
brighter. Charles is rated as an RB1, while Jay Ajayi and Giovani Bernard are both rated as RB2s. The other 2 guys are
RB5s.

Tyler Eifert scored 13 TDs for the Bengals and his 54 points scored for the Dragons was the most by any Free Agent or
Waiver Wire non-kicker acquired by any team in 2015. Eifert's 78 points tied for 4th most by any NFL receiver last
year, and Gary Barnidge also put up a starter-worthy 54 points for a tie for 15th most. Of the remaining 7 receivers on
this team, only 3 of them scored enough points to rank in the top 147 (!) for 2015. Eifert gets a TE1 from the experts,
while Barnidge gets a TE2 ranking. Amari Cooper is a WR1, but then it falls off precipitously. Last year rookie, Philip
Dorsett is a WR4, and Detroit newbie, Marvin Jones is a WR5. The rest are WR8s at best. No faith in the Salsa dancer!

Outlook- One year ago, the Dragons were the 13th team in FUNFL history to exercise the Irsay Rule. And it was the 2nd time this
franchise went from dead last in the league to 1st place in its new division. They did the exact same thing 8 years
earlier when the Jersey City Johnsons jumped from the Central to the East and took the division title with the same
8-6 record The only other team to pull that off was the Attica Fudge Packers who also went from the Central to become
the Owls Head Hooters also in the East, following the 1999 season, to finish in 1st place, also with an 8-6 record. 2015
also marked the end of the Dragons streak of 7 consecutive seasons without a winning record. Ranked 4/7, the team
may want to keep an eye out for the new kids on the block: the 6/3 Icemen.
2015 Highlight
54 points in week #9 not only beat the Pudmen who had 15, it beat everybody else that week as well and won the
weekly $50 prize. It also capped a 4 game winning streak to leave the Dragons 2 games ahead of the East Division
field at 6-3. They coasted home to win their 3rd East Division title in this, their 1st season back in the division. This is
the 3rd time this franchise has been in the East and they have now won a title in each of their 3 East incarnations.

Tom Brady had his 2nd best FUNFL scoring total in 2015, and tied 1986's Dan Marino for the 8th most points by a QB
in one season with 216. Peyton Manning finally retired so that Brock Osweiler could start for Denver. Whoops! Brock
will finally start, but it will be for Houston. Unfortunately, Houston has the same bye week as New England in 2016, and
the Panthers don't draft until #9. Brady is a low QB1 going forward. Osweiler is a low QB2. Jimmy Garoppolo would be
rated higher than low QB3 if Brady hadn't vowed to play until he was 70.

The 5 Paineville RBs scored 66 total NFL points in 2015. That's 18 points less than Devonta Freeman scored. Le'Veon
Bell missed the 1st 2 weeks due to a weed suspension and then got hurt again 6 weeks later. His unreliability caused
him to drop from #1 overall to #3 overall in the dynasty rankings, but, at least he's an RB1. Matt Jones is a high RB3
and Tevin Coleman is a mid RB3. The other 2 guys are RB6s.

Calvin Johnson caught 9 TD passes in 2015, the 5th most in his 9-year career. So far, that's not enough to sway him
away from retirement. Keenan Allen and Alshon Jeffrey both get "incompletes" for last year, playing in 8 and 9 games,
respectively. The Top Dog (Cat), Dez Bryant, played parts of 9 games, but only 4 of those were with Tony Romo. He was
lucky to score 3 TDs. It couldn't get any worse. The prospects are much brighter. Bryant and Jeffrey are both ranked as
WR1s and Allen just missed, as the top rated WR2. Kendall Wright is the next highest at WR5, so there is substantial
fodder, as the Panthers need to make 6 cuts.

Blair Walsh only got to play 4 regular season games for the Panthers, but Coach Big Cat stuck with him in the playoffs
where he established a new franchise record with 19 points against the Gerbils in the Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, it
wasn't enough, as the Gerbils prevaled 34-31.

Outlook- Injuries to one of the best RBs in the league and one of the league's top receivers knocked the Panthers ranking all
the way down to 11/12 after 2015. Only 3 players scored enough NFL points to qualify as FUNFL starters at their re-
spective positions last year. And one of those 3 says he doesn't want to play any more. A healthier 2016 will turn this
team back from Pussy Cats to Panthers.
2015 Highlight
The Panthers started 2015 going 5-0 to take a 2 game lead in the Central Division. Then the Gerbils won 9 out of 10
from week #3 to week #12, to take their own 2 game lead, with only 2 games left. The Cats made it 1 game after week
#13, but they lost in week #14, while the Gerbils won the division. The Panthers had to settle for making the playoffs
for the 11th year in a row!

In a bold move, the Pudmen traded Eli Manning after 7 weeks of 2015 in an effort to increase their chances of starting
the right QB in any given week. They were only partly successful. During the first 7 weeks, with 3 QBs, they played the
right guy less than 1/3 of the time. During the last 7 weeks, with only 2 QBs, the played the right guy less than 1/2 the
time. Maybe they should trade down to 1 QB. Anyway, both of their remaining QBs just missed seeing their names in
bold print on the last page, finishing with the 13th (Philip Rivers) and 15th (Andy Dalton) most 2015 NFL points. Both
of those guys are ranked similarly as high QB2s going forward. Rivers is 14th. Dalton is 15th. If they take one of the top
rookie QBs with the 2nd pick in the draft, they could soon be right back where they started.

The Puds RB turnover rate for 2015 was 100%. They unloaded 5 guys and picked up 3. Unfortunately, they didn't have
a lot more lineup choosing success with this position than they did with their QBs. Ameer Abdullah was grabbed with
the overall #5 pick in the 2015 draft. He scored 3 TDs is 16 games for the Lions, and 1 TD in 5 games for the Puds. Ron-
nie Hillman followed as the Puds' 3rd round choice and scored 7 TDs in 16 games for the Broncos, and 3 TDs in 6
games for the Pudmen. James Starks was added after he scored a pair of TDs in week #6 for the Packers against the
Chargers. He only got 2 starts for Penobscot after that, and they missed his 3 remaining 2015 TDs. Abdullah is ranked
RB2, but the other 2 guys are both RB7s. Ouch.

The Puds have 5 WRs and 5 TEs! Rob Gronkowski's 11 TDs were the most of all 10 of these guys, but 8 NFL TEs scored
even more than that. 10 of Gronk's 11 registered for the Pudmen, though. Unfortunately (and remarkably), of the 368
NFL points scored by the other 9 guys, only 30 points counted for the Pudmen! Is 10 receivers too many? Ya think?! 6
of the 10 posted starter-worthy numbers, but, after Gronk, the other 5 only scored 4 TDs for the home team! Gronk and
Austin Sefarian-Jenkins are both TE1s, but the other 3 consist of 2 TE3s and a TE4. Disturbing, when you consider that
3 TE1s and 8 TE2s are unowned. Sammy Watkins is a WR1, but then we finish with 1 WR4, 2 WR5s and a WR9.

Adam Vinatieri started 2015 with scores of 0, 1 and 5. He ultimately wound up with 60 points in 10 starts for the Puds,
17+ points below his previous average. The Puds scarfed Josh Brown off the Waiver Wire in mid-November, to become
Brown's 3rd FUNFL team of the year, surprising for a guy who scored 134 NFL points, 5th most of all kickers in 2015.

Outlook- Weekly lineup selection continues to be the main problem here. The reduction in QBs may turn out to be of some
help, but picking the right receivers to play each week is a formidable task. Trading a receiver (or 3) for a running
back (or 3) might help. Unless the Puds are looking for a developmental QB, the #2 pick in the draft pretty much
has to be a running back. It's still the East Division. Anybody can win it.
2015 Highlight
The Pudmen went off for 56 points in week #8 to annihilate the Zombies (who were already dead, I guess) 56-35. Too
bad that 56 points was the 3rd most scored that week. Oh well. The win took the Pudmen to 4-4 for the year, only one
game in back of the Dragons. Then the Puds lost 4 straight and it was "Wait till next year."

Big Ben Roethlisberger got hurt again and missed 4 regular season games. He still outscored Little Alex Smith and act-
ually finished 18th among all NFL scorers with 142 points. Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick got hurt and benched and hurt
and, in the post-season got traded and untraded and had 3 surgeries. If Ben could stay healthy, all would be well here.
He's ranked as a QB1, #6 overall. Smith is ranked as a QB3, and so, somehow, is Kaepernick.

Doug Martin scored 7 TDs in 2015 and boosted his ranking from an RB3 to an RB1. 3 other Zombies RBs scored 5 or 6
TDs but they are ranked RB3, RB4, and RB5. (Latavius Murray, Isaiah Crowell and Charcandrick West.) Martin, in his
contract year, gained 1,402 yards, 2nd only to Adrian Peterson. Now he has his contract. Hmmmmmm. Charcandrick
will probably fade away if Jamaal Charles comes back healthy. This might be a good spot to use the #3 overall pick.

Julian Edelman and Greg Olsen each scored 7 TDs in the regular NFL season in 2015. Half of those 14 TDs made it to
the FUNFL boxscores. The Pudmen currently boast a roster with 5 TEs. The Zombies only have 3, but all 3 of them are
rated as TE1s. Could we see a bunch of 3 TE lineups next season? Mike Evans is ranked as a WR1, #7 overall, but he is
coming off a disappointing season where he led all receivers in drops. Edelman and Emmanuel Sanders are both
ranked as WR3s and Cody Latimer is a WR6. The 1st 2 picks in the draft are likely to be an RB and a QB, so the Zom-
bies could have a crack at the top receiver. Laquan Treadwell anyone?

Carolina's Graham Gano scored 146 points in 16 regular season NFL games last year. Gano only played in 11 FUNFL
regular season games in 2015, but he managed 107 points, the most ever by a Zombies franchise kicker. Nice.

Outlook- This team's overall ranking slipped from 11/11 to 12/11 in 2015. If they are looking for consolation, they can find it in
the realization that the Paineville Panthers are ranked 11/12, and they have made the FUNFL playoffs 11 years in a
row! The Zombies were given up for dead at 2-6 before they finished 3-3 and missed out on gaining the Irsay Trophy by
the tie-breaker. They are slowly building a core of talent to go with Big Ben, but an escape from the West Division would
have been the quickest route to prosperity.
2015 Highlight
In week #2 of 2015, the Zombies rose up and beat the Super Bowl Champion Beavers 46-16 to bring their W-L record
to .500 for the first, last, and only time in 2015.

Jumping from a 12/12 QB ranking to 4t/1 should be enough to propel a team to great prosperity in a QB-dominated league.
Both Russell Wilson and KIrk Cousins scored over 200 points in 16 regular season NFL games in 2015, but they managed only
144 between them in 14 FUNFL games, in spite of Wilson's 30 pointer in week #14 to beat the Panthers. Wilson also tied the
franchise record for QB scoring in consecutive games with 11. (The last 4 of 2014 and the first 7 of 2015.) Cousins was a major
surprise, but is rated as a mid QB2 going forward. Wilson is rated as a QB1, #4 overall among QBs for dynasty purposes.

The QB jump was offset by an RB collapse in 2015. 2014 stars, Marshawn Lynch and Eddie Lacy, were major disappointments.
Rookies Thomas Rawls and T.J. Yeldon flashed before getting hurt. Looking forward, Lacy is ranked as an RB1, and the 2 kids
are both RB2s. Lynch is probably retired, but who knows. The Seahawks drafted C.J. Prosise and Alex Collins to go along with
Rawls and Christine Michael, so they are apparently convinced that Lynch really means it. Are you?

The receiving corps put up healthy numbers at the NFL level, led by Jordan Reed's 11 TDs. Unfortunately, 6 of those TDs were
scored before Reed was acquired by the then-Hooters after week #10, and 4 more were scored after week #14, when they
were watching the playoffs from the sidelines. Brandin Cooks and Jordan Mathews also put up starter-worthy NFL stats, and
Golden Tate just missed. Looking forward, Reed is a TE1, #4 overall, and Cooks and Matthews are ranked as WR2 and WR3,
respectively. Tate is a strong WR4 among the dynasty experts' picks. This position has continued to improve.

Robbie Gould's 33 FGs were the most he has made in his Bears' career. In his second season, Cairo Santos scored 16 points
more than he did as a rookie in 2014, and 2 points more than Gould. Both these guys were starter-worthy in 2015.

Outlook- After 15 years in the East Division, the Hooters found themselves back in the Central where they posted a memorable one and
only season going W-L-L-W-L-L-W-L-L-W-L-L-L-W. Now it's back to the East, where the Lubec Dragons just went from last in the
league to first in the East after exercising the Irsay Rule. The Icemen's QB position has gone from a weakness to a strength in
one year, and, if the young RBs come through, there appears to be no reason why the Icemen can't pull off the same trick. How
does a team ranked 6/3 overall get to exercise the Irsay Rule and grab the first pick in the draft?
2015 Highlight
With one week left in the regular season, the Hooters had the Irsay Rule all wrapped up at 4-9. The Pudmen and Zombies were
both at 5-8. They would both have to lose and the Hooters would have to win and score an ungodly number of points in order for
them to lose out on Irsay. Nobody told Russell Wilson the game plan, however, and he went out and scored 30 points in week
#14 to beat the Panthers single-handedly, while the Puds and Zombies both lost. The rest of the Hooters only scored 4 points,
however, so the Hooters managed to win the right to move back into the East Division based upon the fewest points tie-breaker.
