20 Feb 2011 BOT Minutes Motion: “Option #4 [reduced base bid] with

unfinished basement and unfinished side wings on the first floor as the final plan with an expected cost of $1.36M”

“if we cannot raise enough money in the next 6 weeks, we should revisit and revise the plan”

“takes full responsibility to raise $188,000 required for the construction of the unfinished basement provided that the basement is included in the construction plan”

Requirement for an Unfinished Basement

According to the Champaign County Planning and Zoning Administration and the Illinois Capitol Development Board, for a Public Building when the Basement Area is more than 1,000 sq ft, we must install an elevator.
