Our Vision:Healthwatch Cambridgeshire is committed to listening to and working for all people in Cambridgeshire to actively
pursue improvements in health and social care
services.
About Healthwatch Cambridgeshire • Set up under the Health & Social Care Act 2012• Established 7th May 2013• Registered Community Interest Company• Staff Team - Chief Executive Officer
- 4 Co-ordinators -Young People’s Ambassador (funded by CCC)
• Contracted by CCC• Part of a national network – Healthwatch England• HWC Membership is everyone in Cambridgeshire
Local Healthwatch are obliged to:• promote and support the involvement of local people in the
commissioning, the provision and scrutiny of local care services• enable local people to monitor the standard of provision of local care
services • obtain the views of local people regarding their needs for, and experiences
of, local care services and importantly to make these views known• provide advice and information about access to local care services • formulate views on the standard of provision and whether and how the
local care services could and ought to be improved • provide Healthwatch England with the intelligence and insight it needs to

How we will do this• LISTENWorking with partner organisations, networks and individuals Healthwatch
Cambridgeshire will gather the experiences and views of local people about local health & social care services.
• ENABLEWork to clarify and make systems and services as easy to access as possible and
involve people at all stages.
• INFORMProvide advice and information about access to local health & social care services.
• INFLUENCEWe will let the decision-makers know about people experiences and how services
can be improved.

We have gathered information from many varied sources to establish our priority areas. Including:
• The LINk legacy• Stakeholder engagement work• Co-ordinators’ on the ground research• Healthwatch England work programme• JSNA and other data• CQC ‘1 in 9’ report, Joseph Rowntree & more
The Strategic Priorities
1. Equality of access to health and social care services;
2. Access to mental health support services;3. Ensuring the experiences of people with caring
roles are heard and recognised;4. Engaging with the broad spectrum of
commissioning changes within health and social care; and
5. A Health & Social Care Information Service.
