It is wonderful to hear the sound of children engaging in learning with their teachers and reuniting with their peers. For the remainder of this term we will continue to focus on student wellbeing, helping students to resettle into daily school routines and identifying next steps in teaching and learning to ensure that all students continue to progress in their learning. We are very grateful for the support our parent community have given in rebuilding familiar routines whilst continuing to follow our return to full-time face-to-face learning protocols. Latest Face-to-Face Learning Guidelines Late yesterday afternoon all NSW Department of Education Principals received an email containing the latest updates to our return to full-time face-to-face learning guidelines. As a result of the updated health advice and relaxed restrictions, schools are able to recommence the majority of school-based activities from either 15 June 2020 or the start of Term 3 (20 July 2020). Attached to this newsletter is the document from our department of the updated guidelines for families. A brief summary of the latest guidelines: From Monday, 15 June the following will be permitted: Choirs and performing arts at school within your school setting only (yippee from me!) Incursions/external providers relating to curriculum Some activities which involve students visiting other schools Most community use activities From Term 3, schools can resume the following: All school sport and activities including competition aligned with current health advice Inter-school student events and competitions Incursions/external providers not already permitted involving external adult providers SRE/SEE volunteers Work experience for students Physical distancing requirements remain for adults Non-essential adults are still not permitted on school grounds or at school events – this includes parents/carers and we have been instructed to continue to implement our current drop-off and pick- up protocols. 3-6 'Zoom' Assembly
This past Wednesday, we, the Student Leadership Team, hosted our first assembly on 'Zoom' since COVID-19. The task was challenging with a lot of hurdles to overcome, but we believe that the outcome was extremely positive. All classes participated in riddles and earned points for their class. Merit and Silver Awards were also handed out. Overall it was a really fun and exciting experience. We really enjoyed this assembly and hope the students in Years 3-6 did too!
