OUR SCHOOL

Somethings about our school

It is located in the south part ofPescara, called Portanuova.

It receives students from all overthe provinces of Pescara and Chieti, in fact the 65% of almost 1600 students are not from Pescara town.

Italian school year

This is about 9 moths long. Italian primaryand secondary school begin lessonsaround mid-september and finish aroundmid-june. There are two holiday periods: about two weeks at Christmas and about a week at Easter.

Academic high school courses:

LICEO LINGUISTICO : this includes the studyof 3 modernEuropean languages, you can choose 2 languages amongFrench, Russian, German and Spanish; English is compulsoryfor everybody.

LICEO PEDAGOGICO: this one specializes in the human sciencesas Pedagogy, Sociology, Psychology. Carrierprospects include teaching, social assistance, social and medical services;

LICEO SCIENTIFICO TECONOLOGICO : this specializes in science and technology and laboratory work. Carrier prospectsinclude science and technology;

LICEO delle SCIENZE UMANE (ECONOMIC/SOCIAL OPTION) : this courseis characterized bythe study of subjectsin the area of humanand social sciences, law and economics;

LICEO delle SCIENZE APPLICATE : thisincludes the study ofscience subjects, physics and information technology.

Projects and activities:

EXCHANGES: every year the school offers the chance to go to a foreign country in order to improve a foreign language, for example in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain; Russia, France, the UK

LANGUAGES COURSES: theyprepare students for the internationalcertificates issued by internationalorganisations

ICARO: students whoare good at schoolhelp the others whohave some difficultieswith some subjects.

DRAMA COURSE: both in Italian and foreign languages

MARCONI DAY: a sortof recital, in which the students play musical instruments, dance, sing, act

BURKINA FASO: some students who join thisproject help childrenin this African country to attend school and have access to education

COURSE OF ECDL: in the end of this courseyou get the EuropeanComputer DrivingLicence

DAY OF BEAUTY: twodays, in which the forms organizelaboratories or take part to lectures
