History of our school

Kvarnby school was built in 1924.The school was inaugurated in 1925.The first name of the school was Centralskolan but the name was changed to Kvarnbyskolan in 1945. During the second world war there was a refugee camp in kvarnbyskolan in the summers. People came here from Germany to get protection. During the summers in 1950 there was a hotels in here.There was a swimming hall in the basement of the school for the town

The most popular subject at Kvarnby is art but physical exercise as well.

Classrooms

l The school halls are big and look like each other except the l music room,the sloyd classroom and the technology hall.

School days

lOur days on Kvarnby looks like we have a lesson in the morning andl then we have a break and then we have one more lesson andl then we have lunch.After the lunch we have one more lesson

land a short break and one more lesson and after than we go home.Our days starts at ten past eight and our

days ends at half past two.But some days we start at nine.

Lunch

lWe eat lunch in a building we call bamba.lWe don´t need to pay for the food.lWe get rather healthy food like fish and potato and a lot of vegetables.

Teachers

lIt works about 40 teachers in this school.lWe have one teacher for each subject.lIn each class there is two class teachers.

Activities

lWe have an open house every year. At the open housel we show our parents what we are doing in school.

Swedish school system

lEvery kid in Sweden have to go to school because we have compulsory schooling.lWe start in preschool when we are 6 years old,at preschool we are only playing.

lWhen we are 7 years old we start in the real school and we learn how to read and write.lWe leave school when we are 16 years old and after we start high school.

lWe are at high school for 3 years and learn for examle how to be a lawyer.

lDuring the school year we have about five vacations,like summervacationl,wintervacation,christmasvacation and eastervacation.
