Focus: Developing students who are culturally competent and communicatively proficient in all communicative areas.

Students will study the nature of language, the relationship between
language and culture, and how we use language to create meaning.
- Systems of sound, meaning, phrasing and sentence structure

- Social and cultural impacts of language
Intro to Chinese Politics• Current political issues and diplomatic solutions• Model United Nations• 1 semester course (.5 elective)
This course aims to encourage students to: • Understand the forces and factors influencing
politics in China.• Enhance their knowledge of China by exploring
central themes and issues. • Analyze and evaluate how political leaders and
institutions have shaped politics in China.
• Current political issues and diplomatic solutions• Model United Nations• 1 semester course (.5 elective)
This course aims to encourage students to: • Understand struggles for democracy,
representative institutions, and development.• Enhance their knowledge of Latin American
countries by exploring central themes and issues. • Analyze and evaluate how political dynamics,
institutions, and different organizations have shaped politics in Latin America.

Why Bilingual IB Diploma?

● Students who are bilingual with prior academic knowledge of 2 or

VANTAGE - Options for Immersion
Immersion students will have the opportunity to complete the semester-long company projects in the target language in two of the VANTAGE strands.
