Howdy,

Let me first ask for your prayers. The priests of

our diocese will be on convocation next week, a

very important time for us. This also means that

our mass schedule will change so watch the

bulletin or the website carefully. Also, we enter

that time to celebrate Confirmation and First

Holy Communion, please remember to pray for

our candidates during the next two weeks.

Also, let me tell you that our Charity and

Development Appeal is just over 90% of our

goal. If you have not pledged or donated there

are envelopes in the back of the church. Please

think about joining members throughout our

diocese in supporting the great works of our

Church. Any amount will help to reach our

goal.

Finally, (OK, more money talk), it is still

possible to give to our Diocesan Evangelization

Campaign, “Together Let Us Go Forth; Juntos

Sigamos Adelante”. Our new west side high

school is open and continuing to grow. As I

told you earlier, we are planning on more semi-

narians that need support. Our Newman Centers

at ASU, NAU, and GCU are thriving and need

our support. Catholic Charities and St. Vincent

de Paul Society are growing in many ways.

Your help is needed and appreciated.

Que tal, Primeramente les pido sus oraciones. Los sacer-

dotes de nuestra diócesis tendremos convocato-

ria la próxima semana, un momento muy impor-

tante para nosotros. Esto también significa que

nuestro horario de Misas cambiará, así que con-

sulten el boletín o el sitio web con cuidado. Ade-

más, entraremos en ese tiempo en que celebrare-

mos la Confirmación y la Primera Comunión,

recuerden de orar por nuestros candidatos

durante las próximas dos semanas.

Además, permítanme decirle que hemos llegado

al 90% de nuestra meta de nuestra Campaña de

CDA. Si aun no han hecho su compromiso o su

donativo, hay sobres en la parte posterior de la

iglesia. Por favor, piensen en unirse a los miem-

do y necesitan nuestro apoyo. Caridades Católi-

cas y la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl están

creciendo de muchas maneras. Su ayuda es muy

necesaria y la apreciamos.

¿Eres como Pedro? Yo si lo soy. Digo " sí"

sin entender lo que realmente significa.

Cuando seguir a Jesús significa que debo

morir a mis propias ideas o cuando me

siento amenazado, me deserto.

Jesús conoce a Pedro mejor que Pedro se

conoce a sí mismo. Él no lo reprende por

sus negaciones. Afortunadamente, Jesús en-

cuentra a Pedro y renueva su relación de

amor con él. Extrae de Pedro tres declara-

ciones de amor que dejan impotentes a sus

tres negaciones anteriores. Entonces le re-

cuerda su misión.

Jesús sabía de qué manera fallaríamos

cuando nos llamara también. Él sabía cómo

podríamos perder de vista nuestra misión y

dejar que el miedo y el desaliento goberna-

ran nuestros corazones. Pero afortunada-

mente, Él nos encuentra, nos alimenta, nos

ayuda a profesar nuestro amor por Él nue-

vamente y nos recuerda nuestra misión.

¡Vayamos a amar y servir al Señor!

Are you like Peter? I know I am. I say “yes”

without understanding what it really means.

When following Jesus means I have to die to

my own ideas or when I feel threatened, I

wimp out.

Jesus knows Peter better than Peter knows

himself. He doesn’t reprimand him for his de-

nials. Mercifully, Jesus finds Peter and renews

his relationship of love with him. He draws out

from Peter three declarations of love rendering

powerless his three former denials. Then he

reminds him of his mission.

Jesus knew the ways we’d fail when he called

us too. He knew how we’d lose sight of our

mission and let fear and discouragement rule

our hearts. But mercifully, He finds us, feeds

us, helps us profess our love for Him anew and

reminds us of our mission. Let us go forth to

love and serve the Lord! Alleluia! Alleluia!
