Our Mission Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Catholic Parish is one family
in Christ.
We: • Love God and neighbor. • Pray in the celebration of the
Sacraments and receive grace. • Serve sacrificially with time,
talent and treasure. • Proclaim the good news of
Salvation.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, and with Mama Mary to help us, we journey in hope to Heaven.

SOLAR PANEL PROJECT WE DID IT…. WE DID IT…. We’ve been working eight months to get our solar project off the ground and approved by the city and now we are ready to construct the solar panel car ports. If this comes as a shock and you find yourself saying “What solar project?”, then please read on.
Over the past year, the Diocese of San Diego has been asking all parishes to look at installing solar panels. The two primary reasons are, to help in the long run of reducing utility costs and doing our part in reducing our dependency on fossil fuels; which helps in protecting our environment. Here is what the solar panel carports will look like.
Here is where the solar panel car ports will be located
There are 4 phases to this project: 1)Design/Development, 2)Permit process, 3)Material Procurement & Car Port Fabrication and installation, 4)Final approval/buy-off and Commissioning. We have completed the first two phases and now we are moving smartly ahead on the third phase. You will be seeing a lot of brightly colored markings in our parking lot. These indicate all our underground utilities so that when trenching occurs we don’t hit something. The trenching and preparation work for the electrical lines will commence September 26, 2016. The fabrication and installation of solar panels will commence around mid-October with the completion of project expected around Christmas.
Please know that the parking will be somewhat interrupted during the construction, but not to worry, it will be over soon so we can all enjoy the comfort of a shaded car and for us to be less vulnerable to future energy rate changes!

Have you ever thought of donating a gift of love to the church? It’s a wonderful way to support the future of the church and a way to remember the beauty of a life time commitment to God. When developing or changing your will, maybe ask yourself if a bequest to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel would make your dream come true; something from your heart made tangible. A bequest made in your will can be a charitable gift of personal property, such as money, stock, bonds, jewelry, or property. Bequests are easily inserted into any personal will. Please ask your will preparer how to add a charitable gift to your will.
