TIME TO THINK PHILLIES AGAIN
We had such a good time at Citizens Bank Park last year that we’re going back again. This year’s trip will be on Saturday August 17 when the Phillies will be facing the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team that the Phillies only host once a year. Game time is 7:05 so we’ll be leaving the Schneider Parish Center around 4:30 or so. The cost is only $ 40 which includes bus transportation and your ticket. We plan to only take one bus again this year. Our seats are in Section 333 rows 5-8. Tickets have gone fast in previous years so please get your reservations in early. Email Bill Mann at [email protected] or call the rectory at 610-857-3510 with the number of seats you’ll need.
ANNIVERSARY MASS AND CELTIC CELEBRATION FOR ST. MALACHI’S
175TH ANNIVERSARY Sunday, July 7 12:00 noon
St. Malachi’s of Doe Run was constructed in the year 1838 after years of hosting circuit-riding priests who celebrated occasional Masses in the fields and barns of Doe Run. One hundred and seventy five years later, we celebrate the humble beginnings of our parish. Greet Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput and other celebrants on Sunday, July 7 as they arrive by horse-drawn carriages to celebrate the 175th Anniversary Mass for St. Malachi’s of Doe Run! After Mass, guests are invited to enjoy a huge Celtic Celebration which will include a thunderous 3-band Celtic bagpipe band tattoo, a Celtic Irish folk band performance, vendors, dancing, fun family activities and a Cochran Hunt demonstration in the fields adjoining the church as well as sample delicious light fare that will be served in our food tent! All are invited to attend this extraordinary free parish event! July 7th – Change in Mass Schedule – July 7th On this date we are celebrating the 175th Anniversary of St. Malachy Church with Archbishop Charles Chaput presiding at the 12:00 noon Mass. There will not be a 10:30 Mass at St. Malachy that day, nor will there be a 12:00 noon Mass at Our Lady of Consolation Church. All are welcome to participate in the 12:00 Noon Mass at St. Malachy’s.
