OUR LADY OF GRACE NEWSLETTER Welcome back to term 3, I hope you all enjoyed some extra time with your children over the break. We come back to a very full term 3, with lots of activities and events to complement our learning at Our Lady of Grace School. Please take note of the dates of school concert, School Masses and parent sessions. We especially welcome back Suzanne Goh, who is returning from long service leave. Suzanne will be working in a variety of teaching roles over the next 2 terms, in all the Villages. She will be working with small focus groups, especially in literacy and maths. Suzanne will also replace any teachers who are on leave – helping with continuity of learning in the Villages. Welcome also to Charlie, who joins our OLOG community in the R/1 Village this week. The learners in the R/1 Village have been very welcoming and displayed our Big 5 Learner Values: • Be Christ-Like • Be Respectful • Be Supportive • Be Safe • Be Brave Amanda and I spent the last 3 days of term 2 attending a course designed to deepen our understanding of teaching students with dyslexia and evidence based multi-sensory teaching. Good teaching in literacy, especially phonics based, is a focus of our professional learning this year. We will be sharing our learning with all staff and continue to develop a whole school scope and sequence. A reminder we have an excellent parent session on offer this term, for parents/carers of learners in all year levels.
