PRAYER FOR THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENTYou have heard me, only Friend whom I love. To ravish my heart, you became human. You shed your blood—what a supreme mystery! And you still live for me on the altar. If I cannot see the brilliance of your face or hear your sweet voice, I can live by your grace and rest on your sacred heart! Amen(St. Therese of Lisieux)

ANNUAL CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL
The appeal is for all of us to respond in a positive way to all the services we receive from the diocese. It takes everyone to participate in this endeavor in order for us to pay the assessment we are given. Please be generous. The assessments for the parishes are as follows:
The Church teaches that Catholics in good health are to
observe the following practices during Lent unless for some
serious reason they are unable to do so. Catholics between the
ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and
Good Friday. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older
must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and
all the Fridays of Lent.
Fasting as explained by the U.S. bishops means partaking of
only one full meal and two smaller meals that do not equal the
main meal. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not of eggs,
milk products or condiments made of animal fat. The Easter
fast must be kept sacred and should be celebrated everywhere
on Good Friday, and where possible should be prolonged
throughout Holy Saturday so that the faithful may attain the
joys of Easter Sunday.
PREPLANNING YOUR FUNERALPreplanning your funeral assures you and reassures family members that arrangements will be made according to your wishes. Booklets are available to guide you through the scripture and hymn selections, offering excellent suggestions to make your funeral liturgy personalized. Please contact (877-4404) Father Rick, Sister JoAn, or Mary Harter who are more than willing to help you with these arrangements. Preplanning
family members by having your choices in place and eliminating time-pressed or uncertain decisions.
