My Personal Blog1A Siu Lok Lam, Tiff any
Hello there, guys! My name is Tiff any. I am 13 years old. I live in Kwai Shing. I
study in Class 1A in Cott on Spinners Associati on Secondary School. Let me tell you
more about myself.
In my family, there are my parents and my little brother. My mother is a
housewife and my little brother is a primary pupil. We usually go shopping on
Saturday. My father works in Shenzhen. We go to visit him twice a month. I love
my family a lot. And I think my mother is the most important to me because she
always answers my questi ons and takes good care of me.
I like my school and my class. I think my classmates are very interesting
and friendly. They tell tons of jokes every day and I just cannot help laughing. I
also joined the MC class. I think it is exciti ng to be an MC because my dream is to
become an MC. I hope I can be a professional MC one day.
My best friend is Maggie. She sits next to me and studies with me every day.
I think she is very nice and cute. We play badminton aft er school every Tuesday
and Friday in the school hall. It is a lot of fun!
My favourite food is milk candy. It is very sweet. I will eat candy whenever I
am unhappy. My favourite colour is blue. I am crazy about all blue accessories.
This is all about me. If you want to make friends with me, please leave a
message. See you!

Last Saturday 1B Kwok Pui Yi, Joey
Dear Diary,
Last Saturday was a busy day for me but I felt very happy.
In the morning, I went to have a walk with my mother because it is healthy.
Next, I had breakfast at home aft er I took a shower. The breakfast was sandwiches
and milk. Aft er that, I watched a cartoon show on TV with my family.
It was almost noon after the cartoon show ended. I then went shopping
with my friends around 1:00pm. We bought some candies for Chinese New Year.
My mother loved my candies very much. Next, we had Thai food for lunch in a
shopping mall. The food was wonderful. I must take my family here for dinner
next ti me. Aft er we fi nished lunch, I visited my friend’s home and played computer
games together.
I was home before dusk because mom cooked for the family. We had dinner
at 7:00pm. Aft er dinner, I spent around an hour reading the English storybook “The
Wonderful Wizard of Oz”. The story is so interesti ng. I couldn’t stop fl ipping the
pages. Finally, I took a shower at 10:00pm and went to bed aft er it. It was such a
meaningful day!
Love,
Joey

Saturdays1C Chan Cheuk Lun
Most people have their family day on Sundays; however, I have mine
on Saturdays. I grew up in a very decent family, with a hardworking father, a
responsible mother and a lovely sister.
On most Saturday mornings, we go to a Chinese Restaurant in Tsuen Wan for
breakfast because my sister and I like eati ng ‘Dim Sum’ and my parents like ‘Yum
Cha’. Aft er breakfast, we usually go home for diff erent acti viti es, for example, my
sister and I play some fun games, my sister draws some interesti ng pictures in her
sketchbook, or my parents play some board games with us.
I usually spend my Saturday afternoon with my friends. We go to the
playground to play ball games sometimes. If the weather is too hot, we go
swimming or we go to a shopping mall to buy some materials to do some ‘DIY’.
In the evening, I help my mother to prepare dinner because I love cooking.
Aft er that, my sister helps with the clean-up and we watch TV together.
I love Saturdays because I can spend ti me with the people I love.

Dear Wendy,
How are you? I know you have problems. I will help you with your problems.
I know your mother works a long ti me and is not free at home much.
I believe your mother works hard because she wants you to have a good life.
You can speak to your mother about this. Your mother cannot be free because she
has a lot of work. You must try to relax.
You should be happy because you have a good mother. I think you should
thank your mother.
Regards,
Coco Lee

The Crime2A Wong Cheuk Faan, Mars
One Saturday, I went to McDonalds to eat lunch at 1.15. Aft er ten minutes I
wanted to go home. Suddenly I heard a woman scream. I immediately went out to
see. I saw a woman dead on the fl oor. And then I saw two people running so fast. I
found some people to help and call 999.
I ran to follow the murderers. They ran in the supermarket. I followed them.
I saw them go into the toilet. I went to the toilet too. I saw they had lots of money.
I thought they were probably men because they went to the men’s toilet.
At this time the police came. I explained what happened. Then four men
came out. The police caught them. All four suspects were men. Two of them were
the murderers. I said to the police that they had lots of money. Then the police
heard on their radio they had found another dead body a mile away! We caught
one set of murderers.
But how about the other one? This ti me another policeman came in. He said
the murdered victi m had a card – the name was Kelvin. The police checked the
four people’s ID – one had a card of Kelvin. Therefore the murderer was caught.
Although the woman died, I had helped the police to catch the murderer. I
was happy to be a ‘small’ policeman!

I Saw A Robbery2C Cheung Tak Ming
Last Sunday, around 10:00am, I saw a crime happening in Kwai Chung
shopping centre. Two masked men wanted to break the glass of a display
window of a jewellery shop. At once, I hid myself behind a store in the corner.
When I peeped again at them, the robbers stopped breaking the display glass.
At the same time, I saw a male security guard walking near my hiding place.
Immediately, I signaled him in the direction of the crime. Maybe he was too
scared; he just shouted and ran away like the wind. I shouted too in refl ex. Then,
the two frightened robbers shouted even louder. They ran and escaped at once.
Sti ll recovering from the shock, I reported the whole incident to the police. The
policeman exclaimed, “You are a brave man. You could just shout and scare the
robbers away.” I did not say a word in return.

A Crime2C Leung Ka Yiu
Last Sunday, my mum was nagging me to do groceries for her. So I went to
Kwai Chung Shopping Centre. When I got there, around 10:00am, I saw a terrible
crime. An armed man, with a knife, robbed an old woman. He was yelling and
shouting, and kept waving the knife fiercely at people around him. Then, I saw
and heard a policeman fi ring a shot at the man. He fell down at once, and people
around got scared and started running away hasti ly. Many people tripped. Luckily,
I escaped from the crowd safely. Then the ambulance and more policemen came
to the rescue and investi gate the crime scene. It was a really a bad day for most
visitors. To be more careful, I just need to keep an eye on things happening around
me. Good luck to all of you!

Survival3A Au Sin
An old man aged 50 had a lazy son aged 30.The son couldn’t earn his own
living and he was jobless. He sti ll depended on his old father for food and clothing.
The old man was very worried about his lazy son. One day, he took his son to
a fortune teller to have his fortune told. The son believed what the fortune teller
said - the old man would live to 80 years old and the son to 62.
The son was very depressed about what the fortune teller said. He said “I
have found out that you will die two years earlier than I will. So who can I depend
on in the two years aft er your death?” The old man was angry with his son. He
said, “You will live alone aft er I die! So I want you to earn your own living and do
not depend on my fortune!”
The son was very worried about his future life. He thought he needed a job
and saved some money. The old man was happy to see his son’s changes.
After two months, the son took his father to a restaurant and gave him a
present. The present was a blue sweater. The father was excited and joyful! He
said, “I am very happy to see you earn your own living and it is the fi rst ti me I have
got a present from you! I think you can take care of yourself!” The son felt happy
too.
Aft er 20 years, the father died. Before the father died, the son said “Don’t
worry, my dear father! I can take care of myself and I can save much more money
than 20 years ago.” The father was not worried.
Survival depends on oneself.

A Dream3A Ng Yuen Ching
Once upon a ti me, there was a girl called Christy. She loved eati ng dessert
very much. One day, while she was eating dessert, she felt sleepy. She barely
heard someone talking to her. It said ‘Come! Come to our world! ’ Then, she slowly
closed her eyes…
Suddenly, Christy opened her eyes. She woke up and looked around. She
was in a small garden, where there were many trees and fl owers. However, they
were not real. They had diff erent smells and colours. Actually, they were all made
from dessert. The ingredients of the trees came from cakes while the fl owers were
made from jelly. When Christy wanted to pick up a fl ower, a litt le fairy popped up.
‘Stop! Don’t pick the flowers! Who are you? Why did you come to this
world? ’ It shouted.
‘I don't know! When I woke up I was in here!’ exclaimed Christy.
‘Um…do you love dessert?’ Fairy asked.
‘Yes! I love it but…can you tell me where I am? ‘Christy asked.
‘Of course! Here is a wonderful world. All of our people love eati ng dessert!
Let me take you to visit our world now! ’ Then, they went to a dessert factory.
They went to the factory and saw many machines.
‘Here is our dessert factory. There are delicious homemade desserts, such as
ice cream, low fat yogurt, special cakes and traditi onal dessert! What dessert do
you like?’ Fairy asked.
‘I like chocolate. I also like jelly because…’ Christy spoke out excitedly.
1312 1312
‘Stop! Calm down! I am as excited as you are, but we shall visit the shops
over there.’ Fairy said.
In the factory, Christy saw plenty of dessert which she had not seen before.
It was so colourful and tasty. She ignored the fairy and started eati ng.
‘I want this! It’s tasty too! Um…how about this? ’Christy ate a lot of dessert.’
‘I think you eat too much dessert…you will have toothache!’ Fairy said.
But Christy did not care about this problem. Suddenly, she felt pain in one of
her teeth. Then, another, another, another!
‘Oh no! You have got toothache!’ Fairy said.
‘Help! What can I do?’ Christy screamed, feeling scared.
‘Hey! Where are you?’ Christy opened her eyes. She remembered her
toothache and tried to fi nd the fairy. But it was only a dream…

Christmas Party3D Ting Wing Sune, Sandy
My class organized a Christmas party last week. Let me tell you about
the party. Before the party, my classmates and I decorated the classroom
with a Christmas tree and some ornaments. When we finished putting on the
decorati ons, we planned the party games together.
On that day, first we exchanged Christmas gifts. We all prepared one and
some of our classmates bought a big gift! I was so looking forward to the gift
exchanging acti vity. Eventually, that moment came! Mr. Tam broadcast the music
as we were about to exchange gift s with our classmates. When I opened my gift ,
I was so surprised because my best friend had bought a doll for me. When she
opened her gift , she was very happy because she needed a pencil case so much.
Suddenly, Mr. Tam acted as Santa Clause sending gift s to us. We were very
surprised and I received a pen from him. Then we sang a Christmas song. All my
classmates and I sang ‘Jingle Bells’. Mr. Tam praised me for singing the song very
well, so I was proud of myself.
Finally, we had a Christmas buff et. The food was very rich including turkey,
chicken wings, sandwiches, salad and other fried food. I was very full aft er having
so much food. I was joyful and surprised last week because I received many
Christmas gift s and ate diff erent kinds of food in the party. I hope the Christmas
party can be organized again next year.

Organizing a new school club3D Lee Hoi Yan, Hecate
I want to establish Yoga Club in our school because doing yoga can help our
schoolmates to keep fi t and reduce fat. Also, it is easy to establish because it does
not require much money for the equipment.
There are many benefits of joining the club. First, you can make many
new friends who are funny, sporty and smart. Club members can meet other
schoolmates who have common interests while chatti ng with each other.
Next, you may have pressure, face bullying problems, have strict parents,
or feel stressed about your academic performance. This club can help you reduce
pressure. You can relax when you are practi cing yoga.
It is a healthy acti vity too! Club members can develop their healthy body in
this club. You can have a slim beauti ful body. You will feel good and healthy aft er
practi cing yoga.
If you want to join us, you can send e-mail to [email protected] or you can
go to Room G03 to fi nd me at the recess and lunch ti me. We will have practi ce
every Wednesday aft er school and the place is at the dancing room. The annual
fee of the club is HK$10 and you will have a T-shirt for joining our club.
I hope you will join Yoga Club and have fun with us. I wish more people and
students will enjoy this relaxing and simple acti vity. If you want to have a fi t and
slim body, it is the best choice to come to our club!

A Letter To A Friend Who Lives In A Foreign Country4A Chan Long Nam, Gary
Dear Coes,
Hello my friend! How’re things going? I haven’t seen you for a long time
since you’ve moved to Canada. Is everything alright? I know that it’s freezing
cold during the winter in Canada. The daily temperature there in winter is only 0
- 1C whereas the winter in Hong Kong is actually quite warm someti mes. It must
be difficult for you to get used to the weather especially since you have a nose
allergy. Remember to wear more clothes and stay indoors to keep yourself warm
or else you will get sick easily. Schools in Hong Kong commence in September. I
have been at school for almost a week now. How about you?
Now, let me share with you news about my new school life in CSA. This year,
I am a Form Four student. Although I have been to school for almost a week now,
I am sti ll very excited. I feel like I’m living in seventh heaven! You must think I am
crazy but everything really seems so new and fresh to me. I have a new class, new
classmates, new teachers, new subjects, new classrooms, new desks and seats…
..,etc. I have met some old and new friends. They are all very nice. We always
study and do homework together. Unlike studying in Form Three, everyone seems
to be more mature. The learning atmosphere is much better than before. My
class teacher is Miss Tang. She is a very good teacher. She is very kind and teaches
us many things. She is like a mother to the 4A students. We indeed respect her.
Miss Luk is our English teacher. To my surprise, she is not as scary as I thought.
She is actually quite funny and helpful. We never feel bored during her lessons
because she always tells funny jokes in class. Also, she spends a lot of ti me and
put a lot of eff ort teaching us new knowledge every day using authenti c teaching
materials. She gives us new insights in learning English and encourages us to read
1716 1716
more English novels and watch more BBC news and English movies. Thanks to
Miss Luk, my interest in studying English has gained day by day. My English has
improved a lot within a short period of ti me.
Besides, how do you feel about being a senior form student? Do you have
any goals this year? Actually, I have a high expectati on for myself. I must be very
serious in my school work and work very hard to score well in the tests and exams.
The new school curriculum and the subject materials are indeed much harder
than in junior forms. I must put a lot more eff ort in order to get good academic
achievements. In fact, my goal is to get good results in the HKDSE because I hope
to study in my dream university – The Hong Kong University. Thus, I will work very
hard in these three years. I will manage to organize my ti me wisely and make an
eff ecti ve study ti me table in order to make my dream comes true.
I have to go now. Please write back to me soon and tell me more about your
school life in Canada.
Best wishes,
Gary

A Terrible Traffi c Accident4A Cheng Sin Ting, Cindy
On Monday, 11th April, 2013, I was on the way to school and met my
neighbour, Chris, on the bus. It had been raining heavily for hours and the Hong
Kong Observatory had issued the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal.
At 7:00 am., the bus entered a roundabout and made a right turn. Chris and
I were chatting when suddenly, I heard a loud thud. The next thing we knew was
that the bus tumbled down a steep slope. All the passengers were thrown out of
their seats. For a brief moment, Chris passed out. Absolutely terrifi ed, I needed help
because my foot was stuck in between the seat and the side of the bus. There was a
ton of mud inside the bus on top of my foot. I thought I was going to die.
Franti cally, I tried to wriggle out of the mess I was in and fi nally managed to
break loose. I tried to climb up the roof of the bus. At that moment, a van on the
opposite side of the road was out of control and hit our bus. My head banged the
roof with a loud noise and I passed out for a couple of minutes. Other passengers
in the bus shook me a few ti mes unti l I came round. When I woke up, my head
was bleeding and I had a serious headache. I was so scared that I wouldn’t see my
family again.
In complete darkness, everyone was so panicked. Some people were
moaning, some people were screaming and some people were crying for help…
.,etc. At that moment,
everything was so chaoti c and we were feeling so hopeless. I really thought
we were going to die.
“Sunshine comes after the rain.” We could finally see our rainbow – the
firefighters! I didn’t remember how long we had been waiting until the brave,
uniformed firefighters came and rescued us. As a matter of fact, I could hardly
see anything at that ti me because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. They were full of
mud and tears. The only thing I could see was the ‘big shiny T’ at the back of the
fi refi ghters’ uniform. It was the most beauti ful and colourful thing I had ever seen
in my life. They pulled us out of the bus to safety. They gave us warm water and
bread. It seemed like the ‘most delicious’ food I had ever had. Thank god we are
sti ll alive!

E-books! E-books!4B Gong Zhiyan
With the technology developing, electronic gadgets have already come into everyone’s life. Nowadays, Americans already have e-books for their students to use. I think Hong Kong students should use e-books like America. Someone said that e-books are more expensive than traditional books. But I think it is worthwhile. I agree with the use of e-books because of the following reasons.
Using e-books can moti vate students’ learning. E-books incorporate videos, exercises and learning games. Teachers can upload their lesson to the e-books. Aft er class, students can fi nd it in the e-books so that they can revise what they have learnt during lessons. Also, students can do exercises and hand in their homework through their e-books. It is very convenient for them to do their homework everywhere. If they feel bored, they can use e-books to play games. In these games, they can learn something. Therefore, using e-books can moti vate students’ learning.
Using e-books can reduce the weight of students’ bags. As we all know, students have nine lessons everyday. They need to take many books. They also have to bring exercise books and many others. In the long run, heavy bags will aff ect students’ health. However, an e-book is light. If using e-books, students do not have to take heavy bags. They only need to take e-books to school for learning. Students’ parents would be very happy because their children need not take the heavy bags and their children can grow up healthily.
E-books provide convenience for our students, motivate student to learn, and reduce the weight of their bags. Although e-books cost more than traditi onal books do, I think students can benefi t from it.

Say “No” to E-books4C Wong Ching Ting
Many schools are considering using electronic textbooks, especially primary schools. They think that it is easier for their students to carry a PDA or an iPad to school. They think that the books weigh too much. However, electronic textbooks also have disadvantages. I fi nd the use of electronic textbooks unworkable for the following reasons.
Electronic textbooks can’t enhance learning for the students. Teachers must also need to spend time learning how to use it. They may think that traditional textbooks are better than digital textbooks, because they have been using traditi onal textbooks for more than 20 years. Another problem is that, there are many games on iPads. They are very tempti ng to students. Students may install games on electronic textbooks and play them during lessons.
Electronic textbooks will aff ect young students’ health. Students use them for more than 6 hours each day. In the long run, their eyes will be hurt. The growth of their backbones will be hindered. Electronic textbooks will influence young students as they become grown-ups. Electronic textbooks are difficult to take notes on.
Finally, I think traditional textbooks are better than electronic textbooks. Student’s health is the most important. The weight of traditi onal textbooks is not a big problem.

My School Life in CSA5A Cheung Pun Wo
The last year at high school is coming. Maybe that is my last chance to share
my feelings.
I began to study at CSA around five years ago. For me, CSA is full of
memories. I cry here, laugh here and also sleep here during the lessons. I
remember that I was a naughty guy when I was secondary three. Actually, I have
done everything that you can imagine. Fighting, making fun of others, truancy.
Although I did not think it was a problem at that ti me, I have a diff erent thought
now.
When I was a Secondary 3 student, I thought responsibility was nothing.
However, I think it has become more important now. I remember that I never
did homework when I was an S.3 student. If I could go back to the past, I would
go back 2 years ago and be a responsible guy. I believe that it would change my
future.
Here, I want to say thank you to a few people. The fi rst I want to thank is
the Principal. She spends lots of ti me to teach me and bring me to the right way.
The second one I want to say thank you to is Mr. Lam. Mr. Lam is my class teacher.
He always encourages us to disti nguish between right and wrong. If you need a
listener or an adviser, Mr. Lam can help you.
I think everyone will agree that friends are very important. Here, I want to
share my story with all of you. Jeff ery is my best friend. Actually we didn’t know
each other before, until we sat together in S.4. One Saturday night, my mum
argued with me. I was angry and went out. Jeff ery heard that and he came to meet
me. I told him everything and he consoled me and stayed with me. I felt deeply
encouraged from what he did. It made me realize that friends are important.
The last year at high school is coming. I know I will be busy in the future. I
decided to study hard for the HKDSE. I know it is diffi cult for me as I am a lazy guy.
However I will try my best. Hope all of you will study hard too.

Work Smart5C Lam Ching Long, Tony
A few days ago, I att ended a career talk and have learned a great deal about working atti tude. In this arti cle, I will talk about what we should or should not do at work. I will also tell you the benefi ts.
First of all, we should be punctual. Arriving on ti me is very important to show your passion to your boss. In our work, we should take responsibility for our own work. We need to fi nish the work our boss has given. We need to prepare for the day’s acti vity at a reasonable pace. A slow pace will get you fi red. Also, we should think about all the positi ve things that you expect to accomplish during the day and always expect the best, it can moti vate you at work. Moreover, we need to develop a habit of using only positi ve language. Foul language does not benefi t you. Furthermore, we need to perform our work with passion and enthusiasm. We need to look for the good in every bad or challenging situati on that can turn it into a positi ve one.
If you do not want to be fired or have a bad relationship with your colleagues, you should not backstab your colleagues. If you lie to your colleagues or boss, you will be discovered because lies can’t hide for a long ti me in the offi ce. Also, you should not complain about having too much work, but just fi nish it all at a reasonable pace. In additi on, you should not make yourself diffi cult to get along with your colleagues. Your colleagues will give you a hand when you need it. If you call in sick and abuse the ti me off policies to the very edge, you will get yourself fired. Besides, you must not simply do the absolute minimum work expected, but do more work that can show your ability and passion. If you test and criti cize the office policies in place, you will be ostracized. Lastly, you should not gossip with your colleagues especially where it can be seen in the offi ce, as the boss and colleagues do not like that. If you have a bad atti tude, you will be fi red fast.
These suggesti ons will benefi t you. First, it is bett er for your mental health because you are better able to cope with stressful situations at work. You can also build the ability to inspire and moti vate yourself and others. Second, you can improve your ability to turn every challenge into an opportunity. You can be seen as role models and garner more respect in the offi ce. Other colleagues around you will also adopt a positi ve work atti tude, making it easier for everyone to get along in the workplace. Most importantly, you will be perceived as a leader and get more projects to work on.
Aft er the careers talk, I have learnt a great deal about working atti tudes, and the things we should do or should not do if we want to survive in the offi ce.

Social Issues ‒ Food Waste5C Tse Man Yan, Yannes
Recently, the issue of ‘food waste’ has been addressed in Hong Kong. There
is approximately 3,584 tons of food waste produced in Hong Kong everyday.
Some is made in commercial and industrial sectors. The remaining comes from
households, representi ng 11% and 28% respecti vely of the municipal solid waste.
This bad situati on is worsening.
If we continue, the limited landfill space will be full and the formation
of green house gases will increase. It will impose a severe burden on our
environment.
Also, it was reported that the Environmental Protecti on Department plans to
develop the Organic Waste Treatment Faciliti es in phases. It will adopt biological
technologies—composti ng and anaerobic digesti on to stabilize the organic waste
and turn it into compost and biogas for recycling. The fi rst phase of the Organic
Waste Treatment will be constructed in Siu Ho Wan with a daily treatment capacity
of 200 tons of separated organic waste. This is a good acti on.
I think we can do it ourselves to reduce waste. First, we can compost food
waste and yard debris. It is a protecti on of the environment. Second, we can save
the resources. If we go to restaurants, we can order less food. We do not waste
food. Third, we should have a good atti tude. We should not take everything for
granted. Wasti ng food is a bad behaviour. We should not make the same mistake
again.
The government can take acti ons too. They can enforce legislati on. If people
waste too much food, they need to take responsibiliti es. The government can do
more publicity and educate the public, tell people not to waste food. We should
save the resources.
Moreover, I propose the eateries can make some efforts to save the
environment and people’s pockets. The eateries can reduce the price of the dishes
if the customers order a smaller porti on of food. In additi on, they can decrease
the food waste by ordering less food from the suppliers. If there is a surplus of
2322 2322
food, they can donate it to food banks and voluntary organizati ons. I suggest the
eateries can propose deals. If the customers order less food, the restaurants can
reduce the food prices. This is a good idea.
Last but not least, the voluntary or non-profit making organizations can
solve the problem too. They can give people some ideas on how to reduce food
waste and be environmentally friendly. The organization can collect the food
waste. Then, the cooks take this food for re-cooking. Finally, it becomes even more
delicious food for people. I think it is a good point.
All in all, I hope no one wastes food and the suggesti ons can help to lessen
the problem. We should take care of our Earth.

My Life in CSA 6A Wong Tat Nei
Time flies,I have studied at CS A for almost 6 years. I still remember the
things that happened there just like yesterday. Although there is much nostalgia, it
is ti me to say goodbye.
I remember the first day of school; all students sat in the school hall and
listened to the Principal. I was afraid as I didn’t understand Hong Kong’s educati on
system. It was really a big challenge for me to study in a new environment with
new friends and regulations. Before we know, we are already big sisters and
brothers. As we prepare to chase our dream, 6 years of school life will become our
memory.
If you ask which place I like most in school, it must be the school hall. It is
a place full of team memory - for example, Inter-class singing contests, fashion
shows, drama competi ti ons and so on. This stage is a good channel for us to show
our talent and consolidate our hearts. We may forget the songs we sang and the
performance we did, but the heart of team spirit will stay in our mind.
I also yearn for the Sports Day. It is about youth and unity. When I was in
Secondary 5, I was the chair person of Yellow House. What I needed to do was
to unite all members and encourage the athletes . At the athletic track, all the
athletes tried their best to compete with each other. We wanted to achieve the
same goal---be the champion. We shouted loudly and in the end we got the
highest score and were the champions .It was not only my eff ort, so I really want
to thank all the members of Yellow House.
I would like to express my grati tude to all teachers for all the help you gave
me in the past six years. All of you were always so pati ent when I asked questi ons
and explained everything so thoroughly. I also want to thank my classmates as
they off ered great help to me. It is a pleasure to have you guys as my classmates
and friends. I will cherish every moment we had together. Let our friendship be
everlasti ng.
In my mind, I think every classmate has their own dream. Maybe they want

to be a doctor to save people’s lives. Maybe they want to be lawyers of justi ce.
Maybe they want to be a journalist to report the truth. No matt er what your goal
is, I sincerely hope all of us can find the job we love. Some classmates may say
they hate school but fi nally they will miss the place they study. Aft er a few days,
we may not meet every day and we will face lots of challenges but we don’t need
to be afraid because when we are ti red, we can revisit our home.
The Principal said: “To give is bett er than to take”. We cannot listen to the
Principal’s speech anymore. I hope when we leave our school, we should still
remember our school’s mott o. Don’t forget to help people and do good things. It is
my hope that all of us can have a good future.

A Short Story “Earthquake”6B Chow Hiu Yau
The earthquake hit at 8am. It was a Sunday and I was at home. My two-year-old sister and 80-year-old grandma were in the next room. While I was getti ng my breakfast ready, the house started to quake, the plates, the books, the lighti ng, all fell on the fl oor.
My sister was frightened, all she could do was to keep on crying. Yet, my grandma was calm. Grandma held my sister in her arms and told me that we must hide under the desk unti l everything was over. I followed her advice to hide, as the desk we had in our apartment was too ti ny, we had to cling on ti ghtly together. I thought I might die because the earthquake had not stopped and it was so hard to breathe. My sister was sti ll crying, her voice was even noisier than the sound of the quake, so I got a headache. While the earthquake was hitti ng, grandma and I started to pray for mum and dad, hoping that they were safe in their workplace and that the earthquake would not aff ect them.
Suddenly, the shaking stopped. Everything came to a standsti ll and there was only silence. Realizing that the quake was over, my grandma, with my litt le sister in her arms, and I quickly left the scene and ran out of the building. We saw many neighbours coming out anxiously. In the streets, many of them discussed how fearful and violent the earthquake was, although it had only lasted for about ten minutes. I was not afraid anymore, but my sister kept clinging on grandma ti ghtly. Although she did not cry anymore, she didn't want to talk with anyone.
After a while, I went back into the apartment and contacted my parents immediately. However, neither of them could be reached at the ti me. I began to worry about them. Aft er trying many ti mes, I gave up and went to tell grandma that dad and mum might be in danger. When I opened the door, I found that my parents were already home, my mother was talking to my grandma and had my sister in her arms. I was happy yet surprised to see that they were there. I later found out that they drove home immediately aft er the earthquake had stopped, but the telecommunicati on system was down. It was why we had not been able to contact each other then.
I am pleased that my family was safe when the earthquake happened and I realize how much my parents love me and I love them. I sincerely hope that every one of us can pay more att enti on to those we love and the ones who love us. Never wait ti ll it is too late!
