OUR PAINTERS... Our Children Paint Lawkim!! On October 1, 2011 Shindewadi Plant had the pleasure of hosting 29 children of our Shopfloor family to spend the day with us and paint this mural on the wall to the entrance of our Shopfloor. Our Sandeep Tellure from Corporate Office helped to freeze the design of the painting and Mr. Shrimant Shinde from Pune city was brought in to coordinate the activities, that stretched over 2 days. The children had a lot of fun both completing and finishing the painting entirely by themselves. They are already looking forward to the next occasion !

MASTER BLASTERS!The American Society for Quality based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA announced on Nov. 4, 2011 that our Abhay Pendse, Associate Vice Pres ident & Head Shindewadi and Narayan Dharmadhikari, Asst. General Manager had completed requirements to be named ASQ-Certified Master Black Belts.

The ASQ India Office confirmed they are among the very few who cleared the rigorous 5-hour exam - only the 2nd and 3rd persons in India to have done so!

The entire Lawkim Parivar is proud of their world-class achievement, and we count ourselves lucky to have them with us to inspire and push us on to greater heights in the future!

From the Editor’s Desk

Dear Friends,

We have crossed the half-way mark of a very tough year for Lawkim. As you know, we live for our customers - and therefore their difficulties are ours also.

We are making every effort to accelerate out of this awkward spot and hope we can make an impact even at this late stage in the year.

We concentrated our efforts on ensuring that we are in good shape to meet the future - and submitted ourselves enthusiastically for the CII Exim Bank Award for Business Excellence audit between 11th to 14th October 2011. Our safety record also continues blemish-free. Our work culture at all levels definitely helps create a good ambience at Shindewadi.

On our People front we have had various activities, the most fun being inviting our children to come and paint a wall in our factory in October. Their efforts brighten up our working day! We also noticed our office boy in Vikhroli, Sandeep Tellure who has worked for us since Thane days, drawing portraits in his spare time. We enlisted his support to do the basic drawing work for the painting project, and he did a good job! This was a very pleasant surprise - and we look to his help in future also.

Finally, congratulations again to Abhay Pendse and Narayan Dharmadhikari - who went the extra mile submitting themselves for the very exacting Master Black Belt examination, achieving success splendidly! Very few people in India have reached this level and we are proud of them!
