Ottawa Temiskaming Highland Trail (OTHT) Mapset and Planner The Ottawa Temiskaming Highland Trail (OTHT) is a rugged wilderness hiking trail that covers a transitional area of Boreal/Great Lakes St Lawrence Region forest ranging from Latchford Ontario in the north through to Thorne Ontario in the south. The accompanying hiking planner and mapset are intended to aid hikers in planning for and hiking the OTHT. Note: Wilderness hiking is subject to environmental impacts that affect bush road conditions, trail marking, access and usage, the degree of difficulty for hiking, as well as the condition of campsites and usable water availability. Cell phone coverage is unavailable for most of the trail. Some availability is found on the shores of Lake Temiskaming as well as high ground closer to the Highway 11 corridor. Primary trails are marked with white tree blazes while secondary trails are marked with blue tree blazes. A number of juncture points are indicated with various signage. Consult the webpage indicated below for data files to load GPS units. The OTHT trail can be accessed at various places as noted on the planner. These same access points can be of value if making mid-hike supply restocking arrangements.
