A father’s nurturing presence can benefit children and help them develop cognitively, socially & emotionally. Latest research indicates that Dads who are actively involved in raising their children can make a positive and lasting difference in their lives. Parent Connection’s Fatherhood Programs are facilitated and attend- ed by dads. In addition to monthly “Let’s Play” parenting groups and Baby Basics workshops for new dads, we enjoy hosting two very special annual events for Dads or another special man in your child’s life, such as a brother, grandpa, uncle or friend. Each event features fun activities and games for guys and children ages 0-6. These events facilitate lasting memories for families year after year! Donations are accepted! Suggested donation $1.00 per person payable at the door. REGISTER by calling ThedaCare at (920) 830 - 6877 or www.thedacare.org and click on “Classes.” Events are listed under “Fox Cities Sports Spectacular” and “Indoor Expedition Oshkosh”. Monday, February 25th 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Downtown Appleton YMCA 218 E. Lawrence Street * Appleton Ramp parking will be available for $2.00. Join us for a fun-filled evening of bouncing, obstacle courses, running, jumping, crafting and more physical activities to get kids moving! Thursday, March 7th 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Peace Lutheran Church 240 W. 9th Avenue * Oshkosh FREE lot and street parking will be available. Managing Meltdowns

(For parents of children 5 and under)

Of all the behavioral problems parents

face from their children, meltdowns may

be the most upsetting as well as the

hardest to manage. This one-night

workshop will help parents regain control.

We will discuss the main causes of

tantrums and a four step process for

meltdown management.

Tuesday, February 26, 2019 Preventing Power Struggles It’s easy to slip into a power struggle with your child over small and large issues! Power struggles can create distance and hostility

in the home. In this workshop, parents will learn how to build trust while maintaining a safe learning environment, how to avoid pow-

er struggles all together, how to set reasonable limits and expectations, and how to use routines and schedules to minimize strug-

gles in the home. Presented by Deb Kozak from UWO-Head Start
