Padlocked Emergency Exit: 1910.36 (d): An exit door must be unlocked. 1910.36 (d)(1): Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors.

1910.178(n)(4): The driver shall be required to slow down and sound

the horn at cross aisles and other locations where vision is obstructed. If the load being carried obstructs forward view, the driver shall be required to travel with the load trailing.

1910.213(h)(1): …The sides of the lower exposed portion of the blade shall be guarded to the full diameter of the blade by a device that will automatically adjust itself to the thickness of the stock and remain in contact with stock being cut to give maximum protection possible for the operation being performed.

Abrasive Wheel Guarding

1910.215(a)(1): Machine guarding. Abrasive wheels shall be used only on machines provided with safety guards as defined in the following paragraphs of this section, except: wheels used for internal work (1910.215(a)(1)(i)) Mounted wheels, used in portable operations, 2 inches and smaller in diameter

(1910.215(a)(1)(ii)) Types 16, 17, 18, 18R, and 19 cones, plugs, and threaded hole pot balls where the

work offers protection. (1910.215(a)(1)(iii))

1910.215(a)(1): Guard design. The safety guard shall cover the spindle end, nut, and flange projections.

1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tankcars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks shall be in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965

Gas cylinders must be secured at all times to prevent tipping.

Gas cylinders can not be stored in public hallways or other unprotected areas.

Cylinders must be segregated in hazard classes while in storage. Oxidizers (oxygen) must be separated from flammable gases, and empty cylinders must be isolated from filled cylinders.

The proper storage for oxygen cylinders requires that a minimum of 20 feet is maintained between flammable gas cylinders and oxygen cylinders or the storage area be separated, at a minimum, by a firewall five (5) feet high with a fire rating of 30 minutes.

Portable electric equipment - 1910.334(a) 1910.334(a)(2)(ii): If there is a defect or

evidence of damage that might expose an employee to injury, the defective or damaged item shall be removed from service, and no employee may use it until repairs and tests necessary to render the equipment safe have been made.
