More than 35,000 km of telecommunications cables installed since 1989 are being retired in the Pacific basin alone.

Newer cables have far more bandwidth, rendering these systems obsolete for commercial use.

• Utilizes highly reliable technology developed by the telecommunications industry for power and data transmission
