Mobile work forces are an important part of any modern day corporate environment, allowing employees to work where and when they choose. Many organisations issue laptops in preference to standard desktop PC’s in order to facilitate the Mobile Workforce, but by doing this without utilising modern encryption techniques, they are also jeopardising the security of sensitive and confidential information in areas outside of their control.

Why Hardware Encryption?

Products with hardware based cryptographic chips manage the encryption keys and perform the encrypting/decrypting routines. This means that your PCs processor will not be slowed down and the products run more securely than any software based encryption system.

What Is AES?

The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a symmetric-key encryption standard adopted by the U.S. Government. The AES ciphers have been analysed extensively and are now usedworldwide as the default standard for encrypting data.

Do I Need 128 Bit Or 256 Bit?

This will depend largely on the type of data to be secured and any regulatory requirements you must conform to. To secure general company documents a 128 Bit device may be suitable however ifyou are securing fi nancial information, 3rd party details, medicalhistory or classifi ed data then a 256 Bit device would meet your requirements.

What Is FIPS 140-2?

Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2(FIPS 140-2) isa standard that describes US Federal government requirements IT products should meet for sensitive, but unclassifi ed data.FIPS 140-2 certifi cation has become a widely used method for organisations and their associated regulators to determine if an encrypted product is suitable for use by themselves and/or members.

LucidPORT Chameleon Access Keys

Like a Key for your Computer

The Chameleon is not a flash storage drive, its a key for your computer protecting your information with full AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by the US government and many Fortune 500 companies. Plug in the Chameleon to access your files. Unplug it to secure them. No passwords to remember or hide. The Chameleon guards your data from key-loggers, malware, and hackers even if Windows is not password protected.

LucidPort’s Chameleon creates an encrypted partition on your computer’s hard drive or any other USB or fl ash media drive. This partition looks and acts like another drive in the system. Every fi le and application placed in this drive is automatically encrypted. As long as the Chameleon is plugged in, you can access these fi les and applications normally. Once the Chameleon is removed, this drive disappears and all access is terminated.

Unlimited Encrypted Data

Unlike fl ash drives, the encrypted data is not stored on the Chameleon, it remains in your storage device. In the event of a lost Chameleon, your data is still recoverable and remains safe in your computer, external hard drive, or fl ash drive. You can make the biggest Chameleon drives up to 2TB in size, you can make any number of Chameleon drives, there is no limit on how much encrypted data can be created by Chameleon.

Secure data on the Cloud

What happens if yours or your user’s laptop keyboard stops working or meets with an accidental spillage of liquid?

Normally you would have to replace the laptop with a new one which can be costly and time consuming.

However this is no longer the case with Origin’s comprehensive range of replacement laptop internal keyboards. We have extensive availability for most makes and models of Dell laptops with UK and most other EU language layouts available from stock for immediate delivery.

Other non-EU language layouts can be obtained on request and are usually available within a couple of days.

We are able to supply a wide range of rack mounting solutions including server cabinets, server racks, fixed/sliding shelves, rail kits and associated accessories.

All our rack mounting solutions are fully compatible with all major manufacturers’ equipment including Dell, HP Compaq, IBM, Sun, Apple and Fujitsu.

Our server cabinets and racks are designed to hold computers, servers, rack mount monitors, KVM switches and network equipment. They meet all EIA standards for 19” server racks and meet or exceed all OEM requirements for ventilation. We can supply cabinets from 18U to 42U high and portable, shock isolated, transport cases in 6U or 8U heights.

If you have non-rack mountable equipment we have a range of fixed and sliding shelves that are suitable for tower servers, desktops, routers and switches. We have half shelves for smaller equipment and heavy duty shelves for up to 226kgs of equipment.

Our universal server rail kits are flexible and economical rack mount kits, providing full adjustment, to suit both rack and tower servers. They are designed to replace lost, broken or wrongly fitting rails without any loss of ‘U’ space in the rack. We also offer a tool-less server rail kit which provides a quick way to install your server in your cabinet/rack by clicking into place.
