IT’S ON US | CAMPAIGN ORGANIZING TOOLS [email protected] ORGANIZING ON CAMPUS 2014-2015 UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS DALLAS At the University of Texas at Dallas, the student government, sororities and fraternities, and other student stakeholders came together to launch their Week of Action. The It’s On Us logo and branding were incorporated into their homecoming festivities, and student leaders were featured in “We Are UT Dallas” a one-minute video highlighting UT Dallas’s participation in the campaign. GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY WASHINGTON, D.C. During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, over 1,200 students and faculty at Gallaudet University came together for an It’s On Us Day of Action. Programming included a pledge drive, campus rally and march, and a keynote address by university President T. Alan Hurwitz. Gallaudet created and handed out thousands of It’s On Us t-shirts to aendees to wear during the event. The event was featured in the Washington Post as well as on local news stations. MIAMI UNIVERSITY OXFORD, OHIO This year, I hosted a “Night of Unawareness,” a student-led conversation and art gallery centered around the taboo of sexual violence on college campuses. With the goal of changing the discussion from “it doesn’t happen here” to “what can we do to change this,” the Night of Unawareness was a safe place to discuss the undiscussed. -CHRISTINA BERARDI “ ”
