Added ability to link arXiv accounts to ORCID iDs o Authenticated ORCID workflow (no typing!) o ORCID iDs being added at ~1k/month, now >15k o ~ 7% of arXiv’s 205k registered author
Added ORCID to existing profile pages that use local author ids o http://arxiv.org/a/warner_s_1 o Content negotiation to HTML or machine format
Now promoting ORCID iD based URIs over local author ids o http://arxiv.org/a/0000-0002-7970-7855 o (provides a lookup by ORCID iD on arXiv)
click ORCID help page on arXiv explains linking possibility. Action link goes to user’s account page on arXiv

What next?
Make association more prominent on user page! Further promote ORCID iD over local ids
Add/promote ORCID iD association at start of arXiv article submission process
Tie ORCID iD association with migration to identity-based author search? Perhaps run in parallel with string-based search for transition?
Scholars@Cornell
CUL
The mission of Cornell University Library (CUL) includes providing an authorita<ve record of published scholarship. Now CUL is running a pilot phase of the Scholars@Cornell service to provide a knowledge base of Cornell’s scholarly output.
Departments and Colleges can use Scholars@Cornell to help understand paEerns in their research output. Visualiza<ons and data downloads will be provided to highlight collabora<on, co-‐authorship trends, and hot research areas
At the University level, macro views of university research output will be provided by Scholars@Cornell. Also, a public access to views of the “graph of knowledge” can highlight Cornell’s global impact
The Scholarly Record via Cornell University Library
Visualiza:ons and data -‐ University-‐wide -‐ Colleges and Departments -‐ Individuals
Knowledge graphs can answer: -‐ How many publica<ons? -‐ What are hot research areas? -‐ Which departments collaborate? -‐ Who are expert faculty in areas? -‐ Who co-‐authors in which areas? -‐ More!
Author IDs can help link it all together...
