Answer: To run in-depth interview with teenagers who had bipolar disorder and to collect information about their ‘moody’ experience.
Specific methodology Qualitative method is chosen because the participants
stories will be collected to gather rich data to suit the framed research question.
Techniques of analysis of data I. - collect response text from the interview
II. - identify patterns, develop themes
III. - categorize and code according to meanings
By coding Using a software
to manage data
I. CODE - Bottom up OR top down
II.Codes can simply be navigating or collection devices can be controversial
III.Improves contact with data allows a mix traditional and new tools
Continue- by memoing MEMO-ING
I. work at text level
II. Unpacking a statement
III. Notes anchored to data
(KWIC) Supplements other information improves data. (Part of memoing).
Concept mapping -Research findings can be presented in graphical format.
Implications of the study practice
A) Under ethical considerationsI. Study must be harmless to subjects
II. Must be rigorous. -Plan submitted under IRB( Institutional Review Board) of AUT and North Shore Hospital Review Committee and
III. Informed consent, confidentiality and anonymity will be uphold.
B)Limitation & recommendations I. Limitation – mental illness subject so can not remember well.
II. Recommendation - acknowledge further study
C) Expected outcomeI. Design is necessary to collect data findings necessary to answer the
research Q?
