Modern Traditional Multi-tiered storage Storage tiering is traditionally done in a number of ways : • Not done at all

• All data is stored on performance disk•Dual tier

• Active (hot and warm) data is stored on performance disks (38%)• Archive data is stored on capacity disks (62)

• Four tier • Hot data is tored on flash storage (2%)• Warm data is stored on performance disks (6%)• Cold data is stored on capacity disks (32%)• archive data is stored on tape (60%)
