OES Working Principle

• The sample is located and tested on the testing stand with the argon flow.

• The spark vaporizes the metal surface and generates the atoms and ions. The atoms and ions are excited by the spark andemit the characteristic spectral line.

• The light transmits into spectrometer housing through the lens and is diffracted by the concave grating. The spectrum isdemonstrated by wavelength, the selected spectral lines are detected by the corresponding detectors.

• The detectors convert light into electrical signal, which is calculated into element content by the software.
