Operations• CSC is stable running  since HI run has

started. • The low CSC occupancy in HI running

allows us to operate all HV channels at nominal values

• Experts have found a bug in the DCC firmware which may be the origin of the CSC loss of efficiency at high readout rate

• CSC plans to implement the CMS-wide plan of action to recover from and mitigate SEUsThe plan for the LHC YETS has been developed.

A source of bad vacuum at -18 m away from IP

A good news: a source of the bad vacuum at -18 m away from interaction point has been found. The decision to replace a bad element has been taken. It will delay the LHC start for 1 week.

Turbine replacement for X3J31 rack

The turbine in the X3J31 rack had a broken cable, which jeopardized reading temperature sensors.During the turbine replacement 4 optical cables and 1 TMB were damaged.

The damaged fibers and the TMB have been replaced.

TMB 3.3 V fuses replacement

• Silver plated 3.3 V fuses have been replaced by gold plated ones on 50 TMBs.

We didn’t replaced the fuses on TMBs which have 3.3 V readings bigger than 3.16 V and where the access is blocked by 2 layers of skew clear cables.

Things to do before January 17

1. LV connectivity test for 9 CSCs. 2. Maratons and heat exchangers vacuum cleaning in UXC. 3. OPFCs and heat exchangers vacuum cleaning in USC. 4. Hardware preparation for the SYSTEC CAN-Bus controller test.

ME4/2 post installation

The post installation for ME42 chambers is going on.

Take into account one week delay in the CMS schedule we can better reschedule all hardware jobs.

8

Not urgent jobs• Racks inspection and missing part

installation (air reflectors, front panels etc…)

• Temperature sensors commissioning in UXC/USC.

Shift-leader and central DCS shifter request

Available shift-leader shifts in January 2012

There is a good opportunity to download (refresh) firmware to the CFEB and DMB EPROMs on

January 21-22
