  • GENERAL

    ARMCON PROGRESSIVE SHREDDER MILL IS A ROBUST AND RELATIVELY MAINTENANCE FREE SHREDDING MILL IDEAL FOR EMPTY FRUIT BRANCHESAND PALM OIL FRONDS FROM PALM OIL MILLS AND THE LIKE. IT WORKS ON THE PRINCIPLE OF PULPING AND TEARING INSTEAD OF CUTTING THE FEED.

    PRINCIPLE FEATURES OF THE MILL IS ITS RELATIVELY SIMPLE DESIGN MADE UP OF A PROGRESSIVELY VARIED TEARING EDGE AND A WORKING TABLE TO THROW THE FEED TOWARDS A BACK PLATE FOR PULPING AFTER WHICH TEARING OF THE PULP IS EFFECTED. THESE OPERATIONS ARE DONE COMPLETELY IN 1 SINGLE CHAMBER.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    •PROGRESSIVE CUTTING BY HELICAL ROTOR ENSURES CLEAN SHEAR WITH LOWER ENERGY REQUIREMENTS.

    •ROTOR UNIT IS FORMED FROM A FLAT SURFACE WITHOUT OPENINGS FOR SHRED FIBRES TO ENTANGLE SHAFT THERBY CAUSING LOCKUP AND JAMMING.

    •REPLACEMENT ‘BLADES’ ARE VERY ECONOMICAL FLAT CARBON STEEL PLATES WITHOUT THE NEED TO SHARPEN. THE ‘BALDES ARE MORE TO PROTECT THE YORK OF THE ROTOR AGAINST ACIDITY OF SHRED MATERIAL.

    •THE MILL SHELLS (TOP /BOTTOM) ARE CAST HIGH TENSILE STEELS TO ABSORB IMPACKS FROM THE PULPING OPERATIONS.

    •TWIN PULLEYS ACT ALSO AS FLYWHEELS FOR SMOOTH OPERATIONS AND SURGES. INSTALLATION OF MOTORS CAN BE ON ANYSIDE OF THE MILL AS REQUIRED. THIS PROVIDES EASY INSSTALLATION WITHOUT CAVEATS.

    ROTOR : PROPRIETORY CAST HIGH TENSILE STEEL

    MOTOR FRAME : INDEPENDENT.

  • INSTALLATION

    INSTALLATION OF MILL IS EXTREMELY SIMPLE. CONSULT CONTRACTORS FOR THE PLATFORM OF WHERE THE OUTLET HOLE IS LOCATED. THE MILL SLOULD BE SITTING ON THE U BEAMS AROUND THE HOLE (SEE DRAWINGS PROVIDED)

    •LIFT THE MILL TO SIT ON THE LOCATING DESIGNATED

    •BOLT DOWN WITH 4 Nos. 25mmØ HIGHTENSILE BOLTS AND NUTS

    •WELD THE DROP SKIRT TO COVER ALL U BEAMS UNDER THE PLATFORM AND MILL OUTLET. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PREVENT SHRED FIBRE BUILDUP TOWARDS THE BOTTOM GRILL WHEREBY THE MILL WILL JAM OVERTIME.

    •INSTALL THE MOTOR AND BELTS ON WHICHEVER SIDE OF THE PULLEY AS REQUIRED.

    •INSTALL THE DROPDOWN CHUTE OVER THE FEED HOLE.

    •INSTALL THE DISTRIBUTOR CONVEYOR TO DROP INTO THE DROP CHUTE.

    •MANUALLY TURN THE ROTOR BY PULLING AT THE V-BELTS. CHECK FOR SCRAPPING SOUNDS. THERE SHOULD NOT BE SCRAPPIING AS THE MILL IS SET AT THE FACTORY. INFORM ARMCON SHOULD THERE BE SCRAPPING.

    •RUN THE MILL EMPTY FOR 15 min.

    •THE MILL IS NOW READY FOR PRODUCTION.

    •THE MILL IS VERY ROBUST. SHOULD THERE BE ANY JAMS DURING OPERATION, JUST STOP THE MILL, REMOVE THE SIDE COVERS AND CLEAR THE FIBRES. CLOSE BACK ALL COVERS AND THE MILL WOULD RUN AGAIN.

  • DISMANTLING OF SHREDDER MILL

    DISMANTLING OF COMPONENTS IS EXTREMELY SIMPLE. KINDLY FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW FOR REMOVAL OF SHREDDER PARTS.

    PULLEYS/FLYWHEELS ARE LOCKED USING TAPER LOCK BUSH. TO REMOVE, RELEASE JAM BOLTS TO RELEASE GRIP ON SHAFT. USE A MALET TO KNOCK OUT THE PULLEY.

    REMOVE TOP HOUSING.

    RELEASE HOLDDOWN BOLTS FOR BOTH PLUMMER BLOCK BEARINGS. LIFT UP PROGRESSIVE CUTTER AS A COMPLETE UNIT.

    TO REPLACE BEARINGS, UNLOCK TAPER LOCK BUSH ON BOTH PULLEY/FLYWHEEL. REMOVE PULLEY AND BEARINGS. REASSEMBLE AFTER REPLACEMENT.

    TAPER LOCK

    REMOVE GRILL BY REMOVING HOLDDOWN BOLTS.REPLACE GRILL IF NECESSARY. REASSEMBLE.

    TO ASSEMBLE SHREDDER MILL, FOLLOW STEPS 1-3 IN REVERSE ORDER ie FOLLOW STEP 3 TO STEP 1.
