Procedure for Taking Radiation Patterns Using Antenna
Measurement Utility Software and VNA1-Start the VNA 2- Calibrate
the cable-Calibration Step-1- Go to measurement Select S212- Go to
Stimulus Select Start and Stop Frequency 1GHz to 8GHz3- Go to Sweep
Setup Power-10dB4- Go to Calibration- Calibration Kit-85032F5- Go
to Calibrate-2-port Cal Reflection: 1-Connect Open male from the
kit to port1 cable then click on Open male at the VNA. 2- Connect
Short male from the kit to port1 cable then click on Short male at
the VNA. 3-Connect Load male from the kit to port1 cable then click
on Load male at the VNA. 4-Connect Open male from the kit to port2
cable then click on Open male at the VNA. 5- Connect Short male
from the kit to port2 cable then click on Short male at the VNA.
6-Connect Load male from the kit to port2 cable then click on Load
male at the VNA. 7-Return6- Transmission: 1-Connect to port1 cable
to port2 cable via feed thru then click on Thru at the VNA. 2-
Press Done at the VNA 7- Go to Save and Recall8- Save State9-
Choose state10- Save settings
If we have done the calibration and have the save settings
already then we do not need to re calibrate the VNA we just recall
the calibration settings by-Go to save and Recall Recall
stateSelect state in which you have stored your settings already
(like state 1).3- Connect the cables to transmitter and receiver 4-
Connect the antenna positioner and controller as shown in
figure-1;

5-Switch on the controller box6- Close all other applications in
PC like Excel and others.7- Disable the antivirus during Positioner
movement.8- Click on the AMU_SLTL_S.exe shortcut on your desktop.9-
It will Show like Figure-2, now click on the Start button. 10-It
will open anew window shown in figure-3.

Computer-properties- Device Manager-Ports(COM& LPT) as shown in

12-Now enter the serial port -5 as shown in figure 5

13-Now set the Direction clockwise or Anticlockwise by selecting
the popup-menu .
14- Step has been fixed by 1 Degree.15- We can set the Delay
from 0.25 second to 20 second by selecting Delay(s). as shown in
figure-7.

18- After pressing the SCAN button Generation of polar plot has
been started as shown in figure-10.

19- After Completion of all 361 degree wait for a second and
then press save button it will show a window asking the filename,
and then please give any file name this will save your data in .mat
format.

20- After saving data press Polar plot and browse your saved
data file. This will Generate polar plot as shown by figure-14.

21- You can also save your data in .excel format by pressing
Generate report button as shown in figure-15.
