A safety message indicates a dangerous situation where
personal injury is possible.
The keywords denote hazard levels with the following meaning:
DANGER!- Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, will result in death or serious (irreversible) personal
injury.
WARNING!- Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious (irreversible) personal
injury.
CAUTION! - Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, may result in minor or moderate (reversible) personal
injury.
wNOTICE: A property damage message indicates a hazard that may resultin equipment damage, data loss, traffic interruption, and so on.
g A note provides important information related to the topic, forexample, not obvious exceptions to a rule or side effects.

1.5 Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
All waste electrical and electronic products must be disposed of separately from the
municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government
or the local authorities. The WEEE label (see Figure 1) is applied to all such devices.
Figure 1 WEEE label
The correct disposal and separate collection of waste equipment will help prevent poten-
tial negative consequences for the environment and human health. It is a precondition
for reuse and recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment.
For more detailed information about disposal of such equipment, please contact Nokia
Siemens Networks. The above statement are fully valid only for equipment installed in
the countries of the European Union may have other regulations regarding the disposal
of electrical and electronic equipment.
1.6 RoHS compliance
FlexiPacket Radio complies with the European Union RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC on
the restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equip-
ment.
The directive applies to the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-
brominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE) in electrical
and electronic equipment put on the market after 1 July 2006.
Materials usage information on Nokia Siemens Networks Electronic Information
Products imported or sold in the Peoples Republic of China
FlexiPacket Radio complies with the Chinese standard SJ/T 11364-2006 on the restric-
tion of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
The standard applies to the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-
brominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in electrical
and electronic equipment put on the market after 1 March 2007.

Operate & Maintain Getting started
2 Getting startedThis chapter provides basic information to start working with the web-based Local Craft
Terminal (Web-LCT). It also describes how to establish a connection to the FlexiPacket
Hub 800 (later on referred as FPH800).
2.1 Working with Web-LCT GUI
This sub-chapter provides general information for the Graphical User Interface (GUI),
which is Microsoft Windows and English language input based.
2.1.1 Using the mouse
Both the left and right mouse button are used when working with the GUI. The left mouse
button is used to select an object, e.g., a function, a menu item, a toolbar etc., or to
confirm an action.
The right mouse button is to open the corresponding context menu when an object is
selected.
The context menu displays a selections of menu items which are relevant for the
selected object in the given situation. The available menus, context menus, and menu
items depend on the users access rights. The unavailable ones appear dimmed.
g Unless the text states otherwise, always use the left mouse button for clicking anddouble clicking.
2.1.2 Using the keyboard
Since the user interface is driven by context menus it is not advised to operate without
a mouse. Therefore, this manual refers to mouse control, i.e., it is presumed that the
user usually works with a mouse.
However, it is possible to use the keyboard to open the main menu or execute the
toolbar items. Hold down the key and press the underlined letters to open the cor-
responding menu or execute the toolbar item. After opening a menu, select the under-
lined letter for the desired menu item or use the arrow keys to navigate through the
menus/submenus.
It is also possible to use the keyboard to perform the standard operations.Table 4
describes a selection of standard keyboard operations that are supported.

2.2 Connecting to FPH800 Web-LCT
Before start
Before connecting to FPH800 Web-LCT, make sure the IDU system is in operation.
Steps
To establish a connection to FPH800, complete the following steps:
1 Connect a PC to the DCN port of the IDU which is running. For minimum PC requiremt, please refer to Chapter 2.2.1.
2 Open the IE explorer in PC.3 Key in the public IP address of the IDU to be connected, e.g.,
http://192.168.255.100, the connecting window opens, see Figure 2.
Figure 2 Connecting window
4 Click Login from public IP, a prompt message for downloading a weblct.jarappears.
gIf the PC is connected to the LCT port, click Login from Local IP.
Switches the setting of the check box, activates the
focused button, enables the radio button, or activates
toolbar button.
Activates the default button (does not require
keyboard focus).

2.3 Graphical User Interface
The LCT enables the user to perform a wide variety of operation, configuration, and
maintenance tasks with the FPH800.
The LCT GUI offers the main elements described in the following sub-chapters. The set
of functions available for each operator depends on the user group of the login account,
which is defined by an administrator.
2.3.1 Main window
Once a connection is established with the NE, the main window is displayed as the root
screen to access all other windows. Figure 4provides an overview of the main window.
