What is this Cloud thing?

  "e cloud, for practical discussion, is essentially a distribution mechanism for functionality, based on service

  In general, consider it at 3 levels   Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), the servers,

networks, etc

  Platform as a Service (PAAS), apps and/or developer tools on the IAAS

  So#ware as a Service (SAAS), the ultimate delivery to the user.

  While nothing new, this is powered by massive interconnectivity and a new class of devices

  Regulations and standards are arising but   All of these issues are global.   Proof of compliance is not trivial (or even possible)

  Legal framework across jurisdictions on privacy and protection   Common set of APIs and services (or descriptions)   Adoption of Linked Data practices

  Support in the development of market adoption acceleration

However, there is a risk in standards approval and adoption
