Types of Pedestrian Facilities

Pedestrian Shoulder•1.5m asphalt adjacent to the roadway•Typically in areas with no drainage infrastructure

Separate Asphalt Pathway•Separate from roadway•Can be used in areas with no drainage infrastructure

Standard Sidewalk•1.5 – 2m wide concrete•One or both sides of the road

Enhanced Sidewalk•Greater than 2m•Includes trees, bricks, coloured concrete, etc
