Classroom Classroom ManagementManagement• Students are expected to follow our classroom and school expectations.

• Our classroom expectations are as follows:

RESPECT

Respect for the school.

Respect for others.

Respect for yourself.

• School expectations can be found in the Student/Parent Handbook. These will be sent home on Monday . Please review them with your child. These are referred to all school year and are important to maintain a successful learning environment.

• Students displaying inappropriate behavior will be given three verbal warnings to correct the behavior. Should a student continue to display the inappropriate behavior then a citation will be given. A citation will contain the basic information concerning the behavior and is required to be signed and returned to school the next day. I will notify you via e-mail or phone call of the citation. This may not happen until after school. Please wait until after three for any comments or clarifications.

• After a student receives three citations for the same behavior an office referral will be given. An office referral may be given at the discretion of the teacher for any behaviors that pose an immediate safety concern to the student or others around them.

• Students making positive choices in class and throughout the building may be rewarded with: classroom privileges and/or notes home.

•

**The above rules will be discussed in class during the first week.

Curriculum

• This year CCSD will continue utilizing Common Core Standards. The mission of the Common Core standards reads…

The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to

learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the

knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students

fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global

economy.

• Please refer to the web site for more information. http://www.corestandards.org/

particular Common Core Standard and will be used to calculate the student’s report card grades.
