BENEFITS OF OPEN CULTURE DATA

Page 55: Open Cultuur Data

Open Images is an open media platform that offers online access to audiovisual archive material to stimulate creative reuse.

Built by Sound and Vision & Knowledgeland but designed for participation by others.

Page 56: Open Cultuur Data

8

Allowing (creative) reuse

• CC-BY-SA as preferred license• 3,000 items from our ‘own’ collection• Currently more than 2,000 items

available• ‘Internet quality’

Page 57: Open Cultuur Data

Some numbers:

Estimated length of entire S&V archive: 800,000 h

Estimated length of ‘our’ newsreel collection: 500 h

Estimated length of material in Open Images: 55 h

So currently 11% of ‘our’ newsreel collection is open through Open Images and 0,007% of our entire archive.
