THEEDGE SINGAPORE | JULY 20, 2009 • OP9 A bout 300 invitations were sent out but 400 people turned up at ION Orchard on the evening of July 2. The guests, comprising the regional media, celeb- rities, personalities and socialites — some decked out in clothes from the latest LV collection — were there to show their unwavering support for Louis Vuitton at the official opening of its largest duplex global store in South- east Asia. To kick off the festivities, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by Taiwanese actress Lin Chi Ling; Jean-Baptiste De- bains, president of Louis Vuitton Asia-Pacific; Jean-Christophe Tevenin, general manager of Louis Vuitton Southeast Asia; and Soon Su Lin, CEO of Orchard Turn Developments Pte Ltd. After the opening ceremony, guests were invited inside to mix and mingle and view the LV products. The main at- traction for the ladies was the 9m-long bag bar, which fea- tured an extensive range of LV bags. While browsing, guests sipped on the special cocktail for the evening, Vuitton Sling, and enjoyed the soothing sounds by spinmeister DJ Gold- fish from Kuala Lumpur. A magician was also on hand to provide some enchanting entertainment for the night, while a bag astrologer was there to tell guests what type of bag matched their personality. We wonder what the bag astrolo- ger told celebrities such as Zoe Tay, Andrea D’Cruz, Eunice Olsen, Denise Keller and Junita Simon.
